Stephanie Edwards was the second finalist from the sixth season of Fox' American Idol to be eliminated from the reality competition series during Wednesday night's live results show.

While most of Edwards' previous weeks' performances had wowed Idol's judges, they hadn't been too impressed with her rendition of "You Can't Hurry Love" during Tuesday night's Idol broadcast. Idol judge Randy Jackson thought it was "pitchy," Paula Abdul commented she thought Edwards' "spirit of you having fun might be drifting a little bit," while Simon Cowell called it "a bit night-clubby" and accused her of "losing [her] soul."
"If my parents would not have encouraged me, I wouldn't be here because I'd given this up. They told me they really believed in me. That's why I'm here," said Edwards during a video montage of her Idol experience. "It means the world to me because this is what I want to spend the rest of my life doing."
Prior to Edwards' elimination, Chris Richardson, a 22-year-old Chesapeake, VA resident that had performed "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying" during Tuesday night's performance show, was revealed to the other member of this week's bottom two vote-getters.
Peter Noone and Lulu, who served as a mentors during the Tuesday night performance show that celebrated the music of the British Invasion, also performed during the results show. Noone sang "There's a Kind of Hush," while Lulu performed "To Sir with Love."
The Top 10 finalists on the sixth season of Idol -- Melinda Doolittle, Chris Sligh, Gina Glocksen, Sanjaya Malakar, Haley Scarnato, Phil Stacey, Lakisha Jones, Blake Lewis, Chris Richardson and Jordin Sparks -- will all perform live on Tuesday, March 27 beginning at 8PM ET on Fox. Then on Wednesday, March 28 at 9PM ET, Idol will air its third finals live results show, narrowing the field of finalists to nine.
