Records show most recently Wheeler, 22, was arrested Dec. 31 for alleged contempt of court, though no formal charges have been filed to date, the Orlando Sentinel reported Friday.

His first arrest, as a juvenile in 2004, also was for contempt of court, the newspaper said. Other charges have included violation of probation, possession of a controlled substance, battery by a detainee in a detention facility, possession of cocaine, escape during transport, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and resisting arrest.

The Sentinel, citing a report by the celebrity gossip Web site Radaronline.com, said Orlando police officer Peter Linnenkamp allegedly used a stun gun on Wheeler in 2005 after he was arrested on a cocaine charge and refused to provide the officer with a urine sample. Wheeler, who reportedly was strapped to a gurney at the time, did not test positive for cocaine, the Sentinel said.

Linnenkamp was tried twice on battery charges but both times the juries deadlocked and the case was ultimately dropped by prosecutors.

The Sentinel said records show Wheeler, who survived the first round of "Idol" cuts this week, also is suing a hospital and once sued the city of Orlando.
