American Idol's four remaining female finalists all survived Thursday night's live twelfth-season results show broadcast on Fox and will compete again next week.

"The person that could be leaving tonight is... no one. You're all safe! Congratulations!" Ryan said.
The elimination of either girl was prevented because Idol judges Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson had repeatedly opted out of using their one "The Judges' Save" of the season -- which the judges can use once during the finals up to the Top 5 to prevent the ouster of a finalist who receives the lowest number of votes from fans during a weekly performance round. To utilize the save, the judges would have to vote unanimously, and that was never the case this season.
"Let me explain," Ryan continued.
"Since the save started back in Season 8, we built an extra week into our schedule for 'The Judges' Save.' For the first time, the judges didn't use the save, so we've got an extra week before the finale. But your votes will not be wasted. Because next Thursday, we'll take your over-38 million votes from last night, combine them with next week's vote, [and] whoever receives the lowest number of that total vote will be going home. But tonight, it's all celebration and good news because your Final 4 ladies are all safe tonight on American Idol!"
Kree Harrison, a 22-year-old from Nashville, TN, and Angela "Angie" Miller, an 18-year-old from Beverly, MA, were revealed as the Top 2 finalists Thursday night and are also still in the running for American Idol's twelfth-season title in addition to Amber and Candice.
Next week's performance show will feature each of the Top 4 girls singing two songs representing a "now and then" theme.
