American Idol host Ryan Seacrest announced the season's Top 5 contestants at the end of Sunday night's live episode, during which home viewers from coast to coast cast their votes in real time.

"The vote was really close and really tight tonight," Ryan shared before reading the results.

American Idol's Top 5 contestants in no particular order are Casey Bishop, a 16-year-old high school student from Estero, FL; Grace Kinstler, a 20-year-old college student from Lakewood, IL; Chayce Beckham, a 24-year-old heavy machinery operator from Apple Valley, CA; Willie Spence, a 21-year-old caretaker from Douglas, GA; and Caleb Kennedy, a 16-year-old high school student from Roebuck, SC.

American Idol therefore ousted Hunter, a 22-year-old software developer from Franklin, TN, and Arthur, a 23-year-old musician from Wichita, KS, who was the Idol Season 18 artist welcomed to join the show this year.

The Top 5 contestants were revealed after Season 19's Top 7 contestants performed twice for American Idol judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

For Round 1, the singers were able to choose songs from Coldplay's catalog for the very first time in Idol history. And Round 2 allowed the American Idol contestants to perform songs dedicated to their moms in celebration of Mother's Day.

Coldplay lead singer and songwriter Chris Martin served as a mentor to the Top 7 contestants this week.

Casey performed "Paradise" by Coldplay followed by "Ironic" by Alanis Morissette.

Chayce sang "Magic" by Coldplay and then belted out an original song called "Mama."

Willie took the stage with "Yellow" by Coldplay and then dedicated a performance of "You Are So Beautiful" by Joe Cocker to his mother.

Caleb belted out "Violet Hill" by Coldplay. For Round 2, Caleb honored his mom with an original song called "Mama Said."

For the first round of competition, Arthur performed "In My Place" by Coldplay. He followed that with a performance of "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Grace serenaded the audience with "Fix You" by Coldplay followed by "When We Were Young" by Adele.

And Hunter took the stage with "Everglow" by Coldplay and then closed the show with his own original tune, "The River."

American Idol's grand finale is only two weeks away, according to Ryan, and will air Sunday, May 23 on ABC.
