The movie will follow a pet photographer who becomes entangled with a mobster and his daughter who is seeking American citizenship, only to have "things go terribly awry on their forced honeymoon," according to The Reporter.
Wedlocked is being directed by Rob Hedden, with Showcase Entertainment's Shawna and David Jackson and Hawaii Film Partners' Rann and Gina Watamull serving as producers.
Production is currently slated to start in Oahu, HI in March.
Last summer, McPhee appeared alongside Scary Movie actress Anna Faris in the Happy Madison-produced comedy The House Bunny, which followed a former Playboy bunny who signs up to be the new house mother at a nerdy sorority after being booted from the Playboy Mansion.
In addition, McPhee has also been involved with the independent films The Last Caller, Success and The Storyteller.
As for her singing career, McPhee signed a new recording contract with Verve Music Group last month. Her sophomore album is slated to drop sometime this year.
