American Idol's Twitter account tweeted out a photo showing the Top 20 finalists running into the ocean to celebrate their Top 20 status the following day, but the photo only showed the finalists from behind and did not reveal their identities.
"This Top 20 is about to make a SPLASH! We can't wait for you to meet them!," Idol's Twitter account wrote.
However, a video that showed American Idol's producers on the beach filming the Top 20 running into the ocean and cheering after Idol host Ryan Seacrest announced their Season 17 status to the cameras was released on YouTube by an eyewitness the same day, revealing the faces of all the finalists.
According to The Idol Pad, American Idol's Season 17 Top 20 lineup consists of nine girls and eleven guys.
The nine girls who will reportedly be competing on American Idol this spring are Alyssa Raghunandan, Ashley Hess, Cristina Contreras, Evelyn Cormier, Kate Barnette, Laci Booth, Madison VanDenburg, Raquel Trinidad, and Riley Thompson.
The ten guys who will allegedly sing in the Top 20 are Alejandro Aranda, Dimitrius Graham, Eddie Island, Jeremiah Harmon, Laine Hardy, Logan Johnson, Ryan Hammond, Shawn Robinson, Uche Ndubizu, Wade Cota, and Walker Burroughs.
Several of the Top 20 finalists have previously appeared on prior seasons of American Idol or other reality singing competitions.
Alyssa auditioned for Season 16 of American Idol and finished in the Top 24, and Laine made the Top 50 on Idol last season.
Riley also belted out songs and made the Top 21 on Real Country, a country music competition which aired on USA Network in 2018.
ABC announced in December the second season of its American Idol revival will premiere with a two-hour episode on Sunday, March 3 at 8PM ET/PT.
The network had renewed American Idol for the 2018-2019 season in May.

At the time, the network also confirmed Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie will return to the series as judges for Season 17.
Country music radio personality, Bobby Bones -- who recently won Season 27 of Dancing with the Stars -- will advise the contestants all season long as the in-house mentor.
The first season of ABC's American Idol revival wrapped in May 2018, with Maddie Poppe being crowned the winner and Caleb Lee Hutchinson finishing in second place.
Although American Idol is returning with a second season on ABC, the show previously aired on Fox for 15 seasons from 2002 to 2016.
