On Tuesday nights, viewers will call or text one of the designated numbers -- each corresponding to one of the contestants -- to cast their vote. On Wednesdays, the semifinalists will take the stage to find out their fate. The two top vote-getters will advance to the finals, and the other six will go home. The weekly live results broadcasts will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 11 (8:30-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape delayed).
The first group of eight semifinalists will perform on Tuesday, Feb. 10 (8-9 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Immediately after the show, the phone lines will open and American Idol viewers will vote for their favorite contestant(s). Fans can use the branded toll-free telephone numbers (1-866-IDOLS-01, -02, etc.) until 11:00 PM ET/PT (10 PM CT/MT), subject to time zone restrictions, or vote via text messaging from their AT&T Wireless phones. AT&T Wireless customers can send the word "vote" to the four-digit short number (5701, 5702, etc.) representing the contestant of their choice.
