Amy Poehler shared a tribute to her female friends on Galentine's Day.
The 52-year-old actress and comedian marked Galentine's Day, an unofficial holiday celebrating friendship between women, on Tuesday, Feb. 13, the day before Valentine's Day.
In a video on TikTok, Poehler reflected on the importance of female friendships.
"Female friendships are the most important thing in your life. The best thing about your friends is they know you better than anyone and they still want to hang out with you. Happy Galentine's Day!" she said.
Poehler also shared a video featuring photos of herself with Parks and Recreation co-stars Rashida Jones, Aubrey Plaza and other female friends.
The post features audio of Poehler's Parks and Recreation character, Leslie Knope, petitioning to make Galentine's Day an official holiday.
"Dear Congress, it's Leslie again. February 14th, Valentine's Day, is about romance. But February 13th, Galentine's Day, is about celebrating lady friends! It's wonderful, and it should be a national holiday. It should be a national holiday."
Poehler played Leslie on Parks and Recreation throughout the show's seven-season run on NBC from 2009 to 2015.
