Amy Schumer is emphatically denying an accusation from fellow comedian and former "Last Comic Standing" finalist Tammy Pescatelli that she steals jokes.
The "Trainwreck" writer and star appeared on the "Jim Norton Advice Show" on Sirius XM Wednesday to defend herself against allegations she has been stealing her comedic material from comedians Kathleen Madigan, Wendy Liebman, Pescatelli and the late Patrice O'Neal.
"I'm getting accused of stealing jokes and I wanted to come and talk to you about it and clear my name, because I would never ever do that and never have," Schumer said to host Norton.
"I have to come up with so much material for my TV show, this movie, stand-up. And I'm so careful," the "Inside Amy Schumer" creator said later.
"And none of these things had ever reached me and I will literally take a polygraph. And I just would never do that. That would be so stupid for me to do that."
In addition to her radio interview, Schumer also took to Twitter to defend her name. "On my life, I have never and would never steal a joke," she wrote Wednesday.
The statements come soon after a video spliced together various jokes from Schumer's various projects including "Inside Amy Schumer," "Trainwreck" and her stand-up performances alongside similar work done by other comedians.
"Both Kathleen and Wendy ... they know me and they don't believe I would do that, I think this is Tammy trying to get something going, I don't know," Schumer continued during the radio interview.
"I think [Tammy] is upset I blocked her on Twitter a couple years ago because she was unkind to my best friend, Rachel Feinstein, and I didn't like how she treated Rachel. I don't think she's got much going on, this is my guess. I think people get upset by success."
