The Broward County, Fla., medical examiner said he wanted to examine another piece of evidence before announcing the cause of Anna Nicole Smith's death.

Perper said the new evidence must still be obtained and evaluated, but "it might change some of my conclusions," which is why he chose to delay announcing cause of death for Smith, who died Feb. 8.
Smith was found unresponsive in her hotel room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Hollywood, Fla. Investigators have said that they do not suspect foul play in Smith's death.
Smith's computer, hard drives, diary and other personal items were taken by Ford Shelly, the son of the owner of the Nassau home where Smith lived.
Shelly, who lives in South Carolina, turned over the items to the Horry County, S.C., sheriff's office. Broward County prosecutors arranged to transfer the items to the Seminole police investigating Smith's death.
