Real estate mogul Donald Trump is coming up against a roadblock in his effort to get a street named for him in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
Trump wants the street leading up to his $250 million Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles changed from Ocean Trails Drive to Trump National Drive, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.
But Palos Verdes residents appear less than enamored with the idea and some have suggested the name be changed to "Ego Aisle" or "Narcissism Lane," the newspaper said.
City officials say they would bow to Trump's wishes if he changes the name of his golf course to Trump National Golf Club Rancho Palos Verdes.
They argue the club is in their city -- nearly 30 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, the newspaper said.
"As soon as I see a business card that says 'Trump National Golf Club Palos Verdes,' I'll vote for naming it Trump Drive," Councilman Peter Gardiner has said.
Mayor Steve Wolowicz said he is getting grief from his peers in other cities for having the Los Angeles name on Rancho Palos Verdes property.
For his part, Trump told the Times he is open to negotiations on the issue.
