Arie Luyendyk Jr. abruptly stopped participating in a profile story for GQ magazine because his fiancee Lauren Burnham felt bullied.

The Season 22 The Bachelor couple spent two days with reporter Rebecca Nelson for a piece titled "The Most Hated Bachelor In America Explains Himself" before Arie decided to pull the plug on their GQ profile.
"In response to the GQ article... She crossed a line. Nobody should have to feel bullied in their own home. That's all I'm going to say about that. #glitter," Lauren tweeted.

The reporter went house hunting with Arie and Lauren in Scottsdale, AZ, wined and dined with the couple, and spent quite a bit of time with them -- only to be shut down prematurely after what Rebecca called "a difficult conversation" with Lauren.

Rebecca apparently asked Lauren a series of questions when Arie was not in their presence that changed the vibe of the interview.
Lauren reportedly discussed what it was like when Arie dumped her on The Bachelor and how her family reacted to her decision to take the pro racing driver back. Rebecca said she also asked Lauren whether she was hurt that Arie had initially proposed marriage to Becca Kufrin.
But the question that seemed to hit a nerve for Lauren was when the reporter allegedly asked for her thoughts on Becca's The Bachelor finale comment that she believed she "would challenge [Arie] a lot more" than Lauren.
Becca also said at the time that -- unlike Lauren -- she really wants "an equal partnership" for a relationship, suggesting Lauren and Arie's engagement is unbalanced.

Lauren claimed she and Arie never watched The Bachelor finale in March so the question was her first time hearing Becca's remark.
"It makes me feel a little upset that people don't think that I would be an equal partner with Arie," Lauren told GQ.
"I'm a very strong, independent woman. Just because I had a little bit of a breakdown on the show, because I wasn't great in that environment, doesn't mean I'm not a strong person."
Lauren also reportedly added she owned her own business, a home-staging company with her mother, and she was the top sales representative at another company. Growing up, Lauren also had to make new friends and get settled in one place after the next since her father was in the Navy.
Rebecca wrote in her GQ article it was obvious Lauren felt "unsettled" by her solo portion of the interview, and shortly after leaving the interview with Lauren she received a text message from Arie himself.

"I don't know how the conversation went on your end but Lauren is really upset," Arie allegedly wrote to Rebecca, adding that the piece felt like "a tabloid interview."
He continued, "I agreed to do this because I believed it would be positive and shed light on who I am [and] in no way did I want to make Lauren upset. I think our interview is done."
