Arie Luyendyk Jr. teases a lot of twists and turns are to come on this season of The Bachelor, and the surprises start right away!

"It was such a good feeling to get through my first night as Bachelor, but this is just the beginning. I came into this experience with one goal in mind: to find the love of my life. I hadn't been in love since [Emily Maynard] and I was here to finally find my happy ending," Arie wrote in his People blog.
Arie's first night as the Bachelor ended with the elimination of eight bachelorettes, so 21 women are still in the running for his heart heading into the upcoming January 8 broadcast.
"Next week is the first week of dates and I decided to change things up," Arie revealed.

"I wanted this journey to be my own, and so I wanted to make sure that I made decisions for the ending I want. I think you'll all be surprised by some of the small and big changes, and trust me, some of those decisions didn't always sit well."
As for the rest of Arie's The Bachelor season, the 36-year-old pro racing driver and real estate agent suggests viewers shouldn't miss a beat.
"It's a wild ride filled with more tears and heartbreak than I ever experienced before," Arie confessed.
"See you guys next week where the drama begins and the romance heats up. You won't want to miss it... I can't wait to share this journey with you."
As previews have showed for the rest of Arie's Bachelor edition, a bachelorette's mystery ex-boyfriend shows up and demands to have the love of his life back. Not only will the ex fight for the girl, but he's heard saying he wants to marry her!

There will also apparently be drama between Bekah Martinez, 22, and the rest of the girls due to her young age, and as fans saw during the premiere, Chelsea Roy -- who received Arie's First Impression Rose -- is not afraid to make waves in the house.
