Arie Luyendyk Jr. eliminated Jenna Cooper and Chelsea Roy at the Rose Ceremony during the latest The Bachelor episode, and now he's giving fans some insight into why he made those decisions.

"The Rose Ceremony in Paris was at the Musee des Arts Forains... It was so weird going to a Rose Ceremony and having so few roses to hand out. That first night, the pile was so large, and now there were just a few," Arie wrote in his People blog.

"At this point in the journey, the goodbyes were so much harder than before. I've spent so much time and had so many amazing moments with all of the remaining women."

Arie's choice to let go of Jenna, a 28-year-old social media manager from Raleigh, NC, wasn't exactly shocking to viewers considering we've seen so little of their interactions this season.

But according to the 36-year-old pro racing driver from Scottsdale, AZ, it was tough to let her go.

"Jenna was so fun and energetic and beautiful, but I just knew she wasn't going to be my lifelong partner," Arie noted. "I'm so glad to have met her and really hope she finds what she is looking for."

A bigger shock was when Arie denied Chelsea, a 29-year-old real estate executive assistant from Portland, ME, a rose. The couple seemed to have deep conversations, strong sexual chemistry and things in common.

Earlier in the season, Arie embarked on a one-on-one date with Chelsea on a yacht and they had a makeout session while Chelsea was straddling him on a jet ski. Arie saw different sides to the bachelorette on their date, other than the fact she's a mom to a three-year-old son named Sammy.

So what went wrong?

"Saying goodbye to Chelsea was really hard, but I knew it was the right thing to do. At the beginning of our relationship, I promised her that as soon as I knew that it wasn't her at the end, I'd let her know and let her go back to Sammy," Arie wrote in his blog.

"Chelsea is strong, intelligent and sexy, but my gut told me that it wasn't us at the end. I have so much respect for her and cannot stress more what a truly wonderful person she is."

In addition to Jenna and Chelsea, Arie also ousted Krystal Nielson during a two-on-one date in Paris. The seven women who are still in the running for his heart on The Bachelor are Kendall Long, Tia Booth, Bekah Martinez, Lauren Burnham, Seinne Fleming, Jacqueline Trumbull, and Becca Kufrin.
