Bachelor in Paradise will air the franchise's first-ever live finale this summer, according to host Chris Harrison, who has also offered some insight on the "reunion special" everyone has been talking about.

"One of the things that will be a little different is our time in Paradise was cut down and compacted, therefore the show will extend back into the real world," Harrison explained to Entertainment Weekly on Friday.
The live finale will apparently showcase which couples are currently dating after filming Season 4 in Mexico wrapped last month, as well as which pairs didn't last.
"It's going to be a lot of finding out what's been happening because things have been continuing back in the real world since the show wrapped in Mexico. It's going to be interesting and I think a lot more fun for all of us," Harrison teased.
The host said the live finale, which will have a live studio audience, will "be more like After the Final Rose where we're live, the show is wrapping up, and there will be people involved that were on the show because we have to find out where everybody is." Bachelor in Paradise's fourth season is set to debut on August 14 although the show was initially scheduled to premiere one week earlier.
The delay is a direct result of production temporarily shutting down in June over a drunken sexual encounter between Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson in which consent was in question.
After Warner Bros. conducted an investigation and found no evidence of misconduct or sexual assault, Season 4 of Bachelor in Paradise resumed filming. However, neither Corinne or DeMario returned to Mexico with the rest of the original cast.
Harrison also set the record straight on previous reports there will be a reunion special that will feature interviews with Corinne and DeMario. According to Harrison, the special will not technically be a reunion show.
"When I talk to Corinne and DeMario, that's not just going to be part of a sit-down like the Women or Men Tell All special where there's 30 people on set. I think people are misunderstanding how that's going to go," Harrison revealed to EW of the special.

"Those are going to be a lot more in-depth and a lot more intimate and a lot more personal and one-on-one than your Tell All special."
Harrison said the special will air towards the beginning of the Bachelor in Paradise season because the sex scandal is "something that needs to be dealt with long before the finale."
Harrison told EW that the live finale and the interview special cannot be put "into usual Bachelor boxes because they're going to be so different."
