Bachelor in Paradise alum Sam Jeffries and Aaron Schwartzman had a short-lived romance on the show's ninth season, and now Sam has clarified the current status of their relationship.

Sam recently took to Instagram and posted a video montage of sweet moments she's shared with Aaron, both during their time in Mexico and after they appeared on Bachelor in Paradise.

While many Bachelor in Paradise fans may be hoping they're still dating -- and maybe even in love -- that's simply not the case.
Sam explained in her Instagram post, "Different views on faith took Aaron and I on separate paths, but the twist? We're still the best of friends."

Sam elaborated, "We may not be soulmates, but we're 'bowl-mates' for life. [Poop emoji]."
Sam also went on to reveal in her post why things didn't work out between Aaron and herself, romantically.
"My relationship with Jesus will always be my #1 priority -- and I'm so beyond grateful for our friendship!" Sam explained. "#bachelorinparadise #paradise #bachelornation #bachelornation #bachelorabc."
Sam's "bowl-mates" was a potty joke referring to her medical emergency on Bachelor in Paradise's ninth season.
Sam was very constipated on Bachelor in Paradise. In fact, she went 10 days without having a bowel movement, and so the show's medic informed her that she may have to undergo surgery and essentially deliver "a poop baby."

Because Sam couldn't poop, she had to leave Bachelor in Paradise prematurely.

But before she departed, Aaron memorably shouted to her, "Just remember one thing: it's not your poop baby, it's going to be our poop baby! Alright?!"
Sam uploaded her statement after her exit aired on Bachelor in Paradise's ninth season.
Sam's explanation definitely had people talking.

One woman commented on Sam's post earlier this month and wrote, "I hope you all realize that this is because Aaron is Jewish and not that he doesn't believe in G-d or isn't religious."
And another lady speculated in the comments, "Maybe it's not a good fit for [Aaron S.] either to marry someone for whom Jesus is important, or maybe even someone religious of any kind at all."
Aaron cleared up any misunderstandings and wrote in reply, "I am Jewish, but not practicing or religious."
"I'm proud of my heritage," the San Diego-based firefighter continued. "My family is comprised of holocaust victims and survivors. I am also a proud American, my family has fought for this country as well. I do not discriminate on religion, or beliefs. All love to both of you."
The Golden Bachelor's Joan Vassos, who had to leave Gerry Turner's season for a family emergency at home, also dropped a comment on Sam's post.

"Beautiful message from a beautiful soul. Friendships usually last longer anyways!!!" Joan wrote.
And Sam replied, "Friendship is truly the best. I couldn't agree more."

Bachelor in Paradise's Season 9 cast is apparently supportive of Sam and Aaron's post-show friendship.
Davia Bunch gushed, "Besties," and Greer Blitzer added, "My favorites on the beach."
When Sam had to leave the beach in Mexico feeling sick and bloated, she cried about having to cut her romance with Aaron short. They really liked each other and had had been getting to know one another.
At the time, Sam and Aaron both seemed optimistic about having a future together.
However, Aaron didn't quit Bachelor in Paradise to continue dating Sam. He remained open to meeting another woman, but his heart really wasn't in it.
Aaron therefore got eliminated at the second Rose Ceremony of the season when he couldn't find a match, along with John Buresh, Sean McLaughlin, and Will Urena.
Prior to appearing on Paradise, Aaron had competed on Charity Lawson's season of The Bachelorette, and Sam had briefly appeared on Clayton Echard's season of The Bachelor.
Sam, whose limo entrance included a bubble bath, self-eliminated from Clayton's season on Night 1 -- which didn't air on the Season 26 premiere episode -- because she didn't feel a connection with him.
