Bachelor in Paradise fans may be furious with Kirk DeWindt for crushing Carly Waddell's heart, but host Chris Harrison apparently believes no one is to blame for their split.

"They were the first kiss in Paradise and they made it all the way to the end. Somewhere along the way their paths diverged. Carly kept going up and Kirk stayed right where he was. To say that their breakup was a shocking one is an understatement," Harrison wrote in his Yahoo! TV blog.

"I don't doubt that Kirk thought he was doing the right thing, but sometimes keeping your thoughts and doubts inside your head can be damaging. At the same time, sometimes your doubts are unfounded and bringing them up can sabotage a perfectly good relationship."

Harrison continued, "At the end of the day, it seems like more than anything this is just one of those things that happens in Paradise, and in life -- and while it's sad, it's nobody's fault. Love is tough."

Although Waddell didn't find a lasting relationship or future husband in Paradise, she's seemingly thrilled for her best friend Jade Roper in light of her engagement to Tanner Tolbert.

"CONGRATS TO MY BEST FRIEND!!!!" Waddell tweeted Monday night. "Also thank God I don't have to keep this secret anymore!!! I feel LIBERATED!!!"

Waddell had also posted a funny picture of herself holding a Coke can that read "Soulmate." She joked on Twitter, "Oh please delivery guy.....PLEASE rub it in.... #fail."

On September 6, Waddell released a song called "Blindsided. A Song for Kirk."

"Bachelor 19, Bachelor in Paradise 2 Music is my souls language," the country music singer captioned the post. "Here I allow it to speak. I made these myself on garage band. Unprofessional. Raw. Emotional. Real. Enjoy."

On that same day, DeWindt shared a picture of the following quote on social media: "Don't worry about finding the right woman, concentrate on becoming the right man."

In response to that sentiment, DeWindt tweeted, "And I'm working on it everyday. I'm so incredibly thankful and lucky to spend the time I did with @carlywaddell."

DeWindt dumped Waddell right before their final one-on-one overnight fantasy-suite date. He said listening to Waddell talk about the future and having children made him realize his feelings were way behind. Waddell was absolutely devastated, as she was convinced DeWindt was her "person" and they'd be together forever.
