Ali Fedotowsky claims she had a close encounter with the Iceland volcano while filming The Bachelorette's upcoming installment -- however luckily for her, it was right before it blew its top.

"We got to Iceland about two days before the volcano exploded," Fedotowsky told Zap2it.com in a Thursday report.

"We took a helicopter. I was standing on a mountain about 100 yards from the volcano. It was pretty amazing."

The Bachelorette's sixth edition will star the former The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love suitor as she gallivants around the world while wooing a group of guys.

After Iceland, Fedotowsky also visited Turkey and Portugal for the ABC reality dating series -- however she said the volcano's eruption on April 14 didn't disrupt her flights.

"Luckily, the big explosion and the airport holdups happened much later," she told zap2it.com.

"After we left Iceland, we went to Turkey and Portugal and left Europe right before all the delays happened."

The Bachelorette's sixth season will premiere Monday, May 24 at 9PM ET/PT.
