Bachelorette alum Gabby Windey shared some big news Wednesday by coming out on The View.
"I always just want to live my truth and my story," Windey said. "And I have been seeing someone for a couple months, and I've been keeping it a little more private because it is a bigger story and a bigger conversation, because I'm dating a girl!"
Windey explained how she felt a "whisper" about being attracted to women that got "louder and louder" over the past couple years.
"I didn't really know to pay attention to it," she said. "I think when this happens, there's some shame obviously surrounding it, so I think I had to a little bit navigate through the shame. Like, what is it? Where is it coming from? But ultimately, like I said, I always just want to kind of do me, do what I want, figure it out later."
Windey also shared the news in a video on Instagram Stories."I know everyone's been really curious about who I'm dating, and thank you," she said. "You know I love to stir the pot and tease, but I did want to wait until I was ready, because it is a larger conversation -- because I'm dating a girl."
In addition, Windey shared a slideshow of photos with her girlfriend, writer and comedian Robby Hoffman, on Instagram.
Windey came to fame as a contestant in Clayton Echard's season of The Bachelor, which aired in early 2022. She later starred with Rachel Recchia in The Bachelorette Season 19, which ended with Windey getting engaged to Erich Schwer. The pair split in November 2022.
