Ben Higgins -- from The Bachelor star to politician?

Higgins, who starred on The Bachelor's twentieth season on ABC, has revealed he's seriously considering a run for political office in Denver, CO, The Colorado Independent reported.

Higgins, 28, may run for a contested seat in the Colorado House of Representatives as a Republican and has apparently already launched a website to thank his potential supporters and keep them informed of any decisions.

Higgins has reportedly been consulting with some well-known Colorado politicians about his potential bid for the seat in House District 4, which is currently held by Dan Pabon, a Democrat who was recently involved in a scandal when he was arrested for suspicion of DUI on St. Patrick's Day.

Indiana-born Higgins said in a statement obtained by the newspaper, "Whatever lies ahead, love, grace, and hope are ideals that guide my life. I will take them with me into my next adventure," Higgins said, insisting that he's "definitely not a politician."

He also revealed his fiancee Lauren Bushnell, whom he proposed to on The Bachelor, will play a big role in his choice to enter politics.

"Lauren and I aren't sure yet what that will be, but in terms of representing House District 4, [current Republican nominee] Willie Pinkston is an amazing person and any decision I make regarding entering the race will be based on what is best for Willie, his family and for Lauren and me," Higgins continued in the statement.

Higgins believes he would make a good candidate because of his history in finance and working with several charities and organizations such as the Baker Youth Club.
