"Jason Hoppy, a 45-year-old male, was arrested on Friday, January 27, at his residence," a New York Police Department spokesperson told Us Weekly, adding that he contacted Frankel, 46, "numerous times via email and FaceTime, and approached victim making verbal threats."
Hoppy was taken into custody after allegedly making a scene at the couple's six-year-old daughter Bryn's Manhattan school on Friday. According to Page Six, Hoppy threatened Frankel at the public location.
"On Friday, January 27, the suspect approached her and a friend at her child's school at around 8:15AM and tried to provoke a fight. He said, 'I will destroy you, you can get all the lawyers you want, you've been warned,'" the NYPD said in a statement.
Hoppy was arrested hours later and reportedly charged with harassment in the first degree and stalking in the fourth degree.

The confrontation at Bryn's school followed a string of abusive emails Hoppy had allegedly sent Frankel and her current boyfriend Dennis Shields. As of late November, TMZ reported that Shields was ready and willing to sue Hoppy if the emails did not stop.
"The complainant said Hoppy had sent numerous emails and FaceTime calls numbering in the hundreds after a cease and desist letter was sent on November 22, 2016," the NYPD continued in its statement.
Hoppy has denied the harassment and stalking charges against him.
Hoppy's attorney Robert C. Gottlieb told Us, "There are no words to express how saddened Mr. Hoppy is over his ex-wife's unjustified actions. His only concern is his daughter and intends to vigorously fight these false charges. We fully intend to do our talking in the courtroom."
Frankel and Hoppy first met at a club in New York City in 2008. Their relationship was documented on The Real Housewives of New York City and its spinoffs Bethenny Getting Married? and Bethenny Ever After.

Frankel filed for divorce from Hoppy, a pharmaceutical sales executive, in January 2013 after nearly three years of marriage and the court battle turned out to be excruciating. Frankel once went as far as to say the proceedings were "emotional torture." Their divorce was finalized in July 2016.
