Bethenny Frankel apparently expected her divorce proceedings would play out much differently than they have been with estranged husband Jason Hoppy.

"This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family," Frankel said at the time. "We have love and respect for one another and will continue to amicably co-parent our daughter who is and will always remain our first priority. This is an immensely painful and heartbreaking time for us."
However, Frankel is realizing a friendly divorce is not in the cards for her, People reported.
"I really did think it would be amicable. I absolutely did," Frankel told the magazine. "I wrote that entire statement myself. And every single word, I believed to be true."
With divorce negotiations reportedly dragging on, Frankel is now seeing a different perspective on things.
"Someone said to me recently, 'We see what we want to see.' And I guess, at the time, that's what I did," the reality TV star explained. "The truth of the matter is, you go with your gut at the time. Whatever I'm going through now, I'm certain that I'll learn something from it. When the clouds pass, I will figure out what the silver lining was."
Frankel and Hoppy met in November 2008 and got engaged 11 months later. They wed in March 2010 when Frankel was seven months pregnant with Bryn, their daughter who turns three next month.
According to Us Weekly, the couple's split was caused by ongoing issues that escalated due to "gender roles" and couldn't be resolved with time or effort.
