Bethenny Frankel says her divorce from second husband Jason Hoppy hasn't been easy.
The 44-year-old reality star discussed the ongoing drama on Part 1 of "The Real Housewives of New York City" seventh-season reunion Tuesday.
Frankel filed to end her marriage to the pharmaceutical sales executive in January 2013.
"There's no way for people to realize what's really going on," she said of the situation. "I really never expected it to be like this. I've had a pretty colorful past that hasn't been the easiest, and this is, by far, the most excruciating thing I've ever even come close to being in."
"I would [say it's emotional torture]," she added. "I just think that when you bring someone into fame -- and then they are left without it -- I think some people come in and see the shiny objects -- and when it's taken away, they want it to be taken away from you also."
Frankel and Hoppy married in March 2010, and share five-year-old daughter Bryn Hoppy. The former couple agreed to joint custody, but have yet to settle their property division. The process has been contentious, with Frankel complaining of communication issues with her ex.
Frankel has since been linked to "Modern Family" actor Eric Stonestreet, and addressed the dating rumors last week on "Watch What Happens Live."
The TV personality previously starred on "RHONY" Seasons 1 through 3, and will appear on Part 2 of the Season 7 reunion on Aug. 25.
