"It's about a girl's journey and what she wants, and trying to have it all. It's about the lessons and the people along the way, about naysayers and rising above," Frankel told USA Today in a recent interview.
While the former Bethenny's Getting Married? and The Real Housewives of New York City star suggested the book might touch upon her own life experiences, she insisted Skinny Dipping will be fiction.
"There will be a lot of juiciness and people wondering what it's based on and if any of it was influenced by my life," Frankel said. "You have creative license. Your imagination can go wild."
Frankel's book deal will add to her expanding Skinnygirl product line, which includes shape wear, skin care, a daily cleanse, and a low-calorie margarita brand which she sold to Fortune Brands for a reported $120 million earlier this year.
The reality TV star is currently filming the third season of her show, according to USA Today.
