"Call it a comeback. To everyone who said 'no,' 'too fat,' or 'you'll never be picked again' -- thanks for the fuel," Derek, 33, captioned a TikTok video on Monday, December 30.

"I started at 409 lbs on March 1, 2024, and now I'm at 338 lbs as of December 30, 2024. That's a total of 71 pounds lost in just 10 months. And trust me, I'm just getting started."

In the TikTok video, Derek was shown lifting a barbell before and after his dramatic weight loss. The video showed quite the transformation, as Derek has noticeably slimmed down.

Derek set the video to audio from rapper Kanye West's acceptance speech for "Rap Album of the Year" at the 47th annual Grammy Awards in 2005.

"Everybody want to know what I would do if I didn't win," Kanye said at the awards show. "I guess we'll never know."

Fellow Big Brother Season 23 alum Kyland Young commented on Derek's physique, "Beyond proud of you!!!"

And Britini D'Angelo wrote, "SO SO PROUD OF YOU! YOU INSPIRE ME!!"

Britini has actually been on her own weight loss journey this past year.

Derek's Big Brother pal announced in a December 2024 Instagram video that she has lost 37 pounds.

"At the beginning of 2024, I made a commitment to take better care of myself. Coming into this year, I was eating extremely unhealthy, wasn't working out consistently, and I just wasn't feeling great," Britini shared in her social media post.

"I knew I could feel better, so thus, our journey began. This isn't the end of the journey, but yet, just the beginning. I want to bring what I've learned about myself into 2025 and become even stronger."

Just as Britini showed her support for Derek, he offered her some words of encouragement in the comments section.

"Going through a fitness journey is not just tough physically. It's tough mentally and you are doing such a great job," Derek gushed.

"I'm so proud of you and such an inspiration... You look amazing. I'm so proud of you!!!!!!"

That same month, Derek shared with his Instagram followers how he faced his "trauma" in 2024 -- both physically and mentally -- and ultimately "conquered" his fears.

Derek finished as the runner-up on Big Brother's 23rd season in 2021 behind winner Xavier Prather.

Xavier won Big Brother's grand prize of $750,000 in a unanimous 9-0 jury vote against Derek during the show's Season 23 finale.

Although Derek was a member of the six-person "The Cookout" alliance and had a strong social game, he never won a competition and finished the game in second place for a prize of $75,000.

Derek told Entertainment Weekly in October 2021 that he believes he didn't receive a single jury vote because the jury members were "jealous" of him.

"I came in this game by myself and I made it clear to each and every single one of them, I don't owe them nothing and they don't own me anything. And they voted exactly how I expected them to," Derek told EW at the time.

"Xavier definitely did earn it, I'm not taking that from him," Derek confirmed.

"I did my portion. I think the problem was you had jury members that I felt were jealous because they didn't want to give me credit for things that I did, because a lot of the things I did was behind the scenes."

Derek elaborated, "A lot of things executed, a lot of people going home and to the jury would have never happened if I didn't do the things that were supposed to be done."

Derek apparently thought the jury looked at him as "the friendly one" or "Mr. Entertainment" in the Big Brother house, which may have resulted in them never viewing him as much a threat to win the game towards the end.

"The problem is the jury itself was intimidated by me because of the fact that I was loud, entertaining, always in your face, sending these people home one by one," he reasoned.

Following the Big Brother season, a handful of Season 23 houseguests went on to compete on The Challenge -- including Xavier, Kyland Young and Tiffany Mitchell.

According to Us Weekly, Derek claimed in a February 2023 tweet -- which he has since deleted -- that he couldn't compete on any future reality competition shows because he was "a big guy."

Derek reportedly explained, "There is no other reason. It's sad because nothing has changed in this reality TV world."
