Big Brother crowned the week's second Head of Household, revealed how only one HoH will be left standing, and announced the season's first "Team America" alliance member during Thursday night's second broadcast of the two-night premiere event on CBS.

Big Brother's second episode began with introductions to the remaining eight of the sixteenth season's 16 houseguests and those eight contestants moving into the Big Brother house -- four at a time -- for three months.

Host Julie Chen explained to the eight new houseguests there would be two HoH's each week yet only one would remain come eviction time. Eight houseguests awaited the newbies inside.

The first four houseguests to join them were Jocasta Odom, a 33-year-old minister from Griffin, GA, who currently resides in Lovejoy, GA; Caleb Reynolds, a 26-year-old adventure hunting guide from Dallas, TX, who currently resides in Hopkinsville, KY; Christine Brecht, a 23-year-old barista from Tucson, AZ; Hayden Voss, a 21-year-old pedicab driver from Marlborough, MA, who currently resides in Long Beach, CA.

Caleb thought Amber Borzotra was "hot and sexy." Joey Van Pelt also loved Christine's personality.

The other four houseguests then entered the Big Brother house. They were Victoria Rafaeli, a 22-year-old photographer from Brooklyn, NY and Holon, Israel, who currently resides in Weston, FL; Zach Rance, a 23-year-old recent college graduate from Palm Beach, FL; Derrick Levasseur, a 30-year-old police sergeant from Providence, RI; and Brittany Martinez, a 29-year-old event coordinator from Long Beach, CA, who currently resides in Torrance, CA.

Nicole Franzel worried the original "Crazy 8s" alliance would crumble because new relationships were being formed. For example, Victoria and Frankie Grande bonded over the color pink and decided to work together.

Derrick told everyone he was a "park and recreation coordinator." Frankie feared Caleb might not "get him" -- meaning his flamboyant personality -- because he seemed very conservative. Paola "Pow Pow" Shea also saw Caleb as a dangerous threat because he matched her big ego.

However, Caleb didn't turn into a problem for Frankie. Zach was actually the one being a bit abrasive around Frankie, slightly poking fun at his high school and theater background. Frankie therefore planned to target Zach, calling him an easy choice.

The second group of eight contestants then gathered for the season's second HoH Competition.

Dubbed "Over the Coals," the competition required Jocasta, Caleb, Christine, Hayden, Victoria, Zach, Derrick, and Brittany to wrap their bodies around a rotating barbecue spit. Once a player fell off, he or she would be out until only one houseguest remained.

Everyone quickly realized Caleb was "a beast." Caleb wanted to win the competition even if it put a target on his back for being a physical threat. He said he didn't come on the show to fake anyone out and he'd never throw a challenge.

While watching him rotate without a struggle, Devin Shepherd determined he wanted to team up with Caleb just so he didn't have to play against him. Likewise, Frankie -- the current HoH -- wanted to be "the tamer" to "the lion" and join forces with Caleb, who ended up winning the second HoH role.

Julie Chen then revealed to the entire group what the second half of the new HoH twist is all about. She said each HoH will nominate two houseguests for eviction, meaning four people will be placed on the chopping block. Then, in a new competition called "The Battle of the Block," Frankie's two nominees must battle Caleb's two nominees.

The winning duo will be saved from the chopping block and safe from eviction, but their victory will dethrone the HoH who initially nominated them, sending that leader back into the pool of regular houseguests. Julie explained you could very easily go from being HoH to being evicted.

"Who wants to lose for me?" Caleb asked everyone after listening to the rules.

The episode concluded with the first "Team America" member being revealed. America voted Joey, a 27-year-old makeup artist from Seattle, WA, into its secret-three person alliance this season. Joey discovered she'll be sent on secret missions throughout the summer with her two other allies, and for every successful mission, each "Team America" member will receive $5000.

It will be up to Joey to figure out whether keeping her alliance a secret is in her best interest. Joey will find out her alliance's other two members later on.
