Big Brother's eighteenth season evicted its first houseguest, crowned the season's first Head of Household, and nominated its first houseguests for eviction during Thursday night's broadcast of its second episode on CBS.

Nicole, a 23-year-old ER nurse from Ubly, MI who previously competed on Big Brother 16, was the first person to complete the challenge, which required the houseguests to climb a palm tree to get coconuts to complete a "S.O.S. sign" and then grab a flag on a raised "island" platform that rocked as the houseguests moved on it.
Tiffany -- a 32-year-old high school teacher who currently resides in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and is secretly the sister of Big Brother 17 houseguest Vanessa Rousso -- was the second "Freakazoid" to finish the competition, leaving Corey and Glenn in a frantic battle to avoid eviction.
Glenn, a 50-year-old dog groomer and former police detective from the Bronx, NY, managed to complete his "S.O.S. sign" first.
However, Corey, a 25-year-old baseball coach from Dallas, TX, completed his sign only seconds later and managed to grab his flag at virtually the same moment as Glenn -- resulting in a photo finish that Big Brother producers declared in Corey's favor, leaving Glenn evicted from the Big Brother house.
"I'll be watching guys," Glenn told the rest of his fellow houseguests as he exited.
"I really thought I was going to be frustrated and be angry, but when they showed me the love that they showed me it was really a special moment. What can you do, it was me being me. I gave it my all, but I'm so happy to be part of Big Brother this summer," he added afterwards.
After the competition was over, the three remaining members of the "Freakazoids" had to decide, per the last remaining part of the "Hit the Road" twist, which one of them would become the season's first Head of Household and Nicole manipulated Tiffany and Corey into agreeing that she should be Big Brother 18's first HoH.
Tiffany and Corey's willingness to let Nicole serve as Big Brother's initial HoH didn't sit well with most of their fellow first-time houseguests, who had previously quickly formed a Day 1 agreement that Nicole and fellow returning houseguests James Huling (Season 17), Da'Vonne Rogers (Season 17) and Frank Eudy (Season 14) would be the first four houseguests voted out.
"You had one job that you could have done -- that you should have done -- was to win HoH. But you blew it! And on top of that, now I'm pretty sure a newbie is going to go home!" Paul Abrahamian, a 23-year-old clothing designer from Tarzana, CA, vented in the Diary Room afterwards.
Nicole and her fellow returning houseguests then convinced Paulie Calafiore -- a 27-year-old deejay from Howell, NJ who is the brother of Nicole's fellow Season 16 houseguest Cody Calafiore -- to not only join the returnees' alliance, but also be willing to serve as a pawn nominee for her true eviction target: Jozea Flores.
Jozea, a 25-year-old makeup artist who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA, had emerged as Nicole's target after she had a conversation with Victor Arroyo.

In an attempt to get on the reigning HoH's goof side, Victor, a 25-year-old gym manager from Slidell, LA, had decided to tell Nicole all the new houseguests planned to target the returning houseguests and Jozea had been particularly vocal about voting off the four returnees.
"My closest buddy here, Jozea, he's like dead-set on 'executing' the veterans," Victor told Nicole. "You've got to start making friends, that's what you've got to do."
Nicole had appreciated the unexpected disclosure but been confused by it.
"Is Victor for real right now? He's telling me his whole entire game plan. You shouldn't tell me your best friend is coming after me," she said afterwards. "This has to be like, one of the stupidest moves ever. You basically just headed me a nominee on a silver platter."
In addition, Jozea had also caught Da'Vonne's attention when they had a private conversation where he called himself "a Messiah for the newbies" and stated the new houseguests planned to get rid of the returning houseguests starting with Nicole.
At the season's first nomination ceremony, Nicole -- who had also managed to form an alliance with Corey -- announced she had decided to nominate Jozea and Paulie for eviction.
"It is super risky to put Paulie up as a pawn just because I really like him. I mean it could a terrible thing because Paulie could accidentally go home," Nicole admitted afterwards.
Big Brother 18's next episode will air Sunday night and -- unbeknownst to the houseguests -- feature a reveal of new competition that will "shake up the game," according to the show. The season's first Power of Veto competition -- in which Jozea and Paulie will have the chance to win the power to remove themselves from the chopping block -- will then air on Wednesday night's Big Brother episode.
