Big Brother evicted newbie houseguest Wil Heuser during Thursday night's broadcast of the fourteenth season's fifth live eviction show.

Frank, an unemployed 28-year-old from Marion, AK who currently resides in Naples, FL, had nominated Wil and Joe Arvin, a 41-year-old chef from Lexington, KY who is originally from Schererville, ID, for eviction during the week's initial nominations.
Frank had nominated Wil because he and his partner in crime "Boogie" Mike Malin came to the conclusion they couldn't trust him because he always wore his emotions on his sleeve, pointed out there was a large alliance in the house without naming any names -- which happened to be the "Silent Six" alliance Frank and Boogie believed they were members of -- and failed to call out any targets when asked. When Wil declined to choose a target, the power pair worried he'd eventually go after them.
Frank put Joe on the chopping block because he was the odd man out in the house and had proved loyalty only to returning houseguest Janelle Pierzina, who had been evicted last week via a 8-1 vote in which Joe was the only person who voted for her to stay and continue competing. Wil and Ashley Iocco, who had been in an alliance with Joe, had turned on Joe when they voted Janelle out. Therefore, Joe was well aware he was alone in the game and desperately sought "a home," as he put it, with little time remaining.
After the HoH also won the subsequent Power of Veto competition, Frank opted to keep the nominations the same. Prior to revealing his decision, Frank considered nominating returning houseguest Dan Gheesling because not only was Dan a big threat in the game, but he had also once rallied troops to vote Frank out and then lied about his strategic plans afterwards.
However, Boogie convinced Frank that Wil couldn't be trusted and was a loose cannon in the house since he was constantly paranoid and emotional. Boogie's argument solely derived from selfish reasons in that he knew Dan would have his back down the road since they were both returning Big Brother houseguests who had originally entered the game together as coaches and had that bond.
Frank knew Dan had Boogie's back and not his own, but he still decided to take Boogie's advice in the end since they had become such tight friends and loyal allies. Frank had admitted to Dan he considered nominating him, but instead of appreciating his honesty, Dan quickly determined Frank couldn't be trusted.
Meanwhile, returning houseguest Britney Haynes' faith in the "Silent Six" was also wavering, as she just didn't know whether Boogie and Frank were truly on her side. As a result, the "Silent Six" seemed to be swaying back to the five-person "Quack Pack" -- the alternate alliance Britney, Dan, Shane Meaney, and Danielle Murphree had also secretly formed with geeky houseguest Ian Terry. Frank and Boogie seemed clueless that their big six-person alliance was beginning to crumble.
Following Wil's eviction, the 10 remaining Big Brother houseguests -- minus Frank, who as the outgoing HoH, was deemed ineligible to compete -- began competing in the season's sixth HoH competition.
Dubbed "Swamped," the competition required each houseguest to fill up a cup with as much liquid as possible and then transfer it across the slippery yard into a large jug labeled "Head of Household." As the jug fills, the cork would rise. The first houseguest to fill his or her jug to the point where he or she could remove the cork would win the challenge and become the season's new HoH.
However, two smaller jugs were incorporated in the game to tempt the houseguests away from filling the HoH jug. One jug was labeled $10,000 and the other "Safety." If either jug was filled up first, that houseguest would claim the prize in the form of either $10,000 cash or immunity for the upcoming week -- which meant he or she could not be nominated or evicted.
If a houseguest won either temptation, he or she would be out of the running for HoH. In an additional twist, once HoH was crowned, the challenge would be over and the temptations would no longer be in play.

Shane won HoH. Britney won "Safety" and Boogie won the $10,000 cash prize.
