Big Brother Head of Household Cody Calafiore nominated Donny Thompson and Nicole Franzel for eviction during Sunday night's 27th broadcast of the show's sixteenth season on CBS.

Big Brother's episode began with Nicole re-entering the house and Derrick Levasseur determining she wasn't his first choice for a returning houseguest.

Frankie Grande couldn't wait to target Nicole and Donny next, and Donny was looking forward to working with Nicole because she was smart and people might view her as the bigger threat. Christine Brecht knew if Nicole won the next HoH competition, she'd definitely be put up on the chopping block.

Cody didn't like the idea of Nicole and Donny teaming up as allies, and Derrick told Cody and Christine to just stay strong and united.

Donny then filled Nicole in on how Christine had thrown the previous "Battle of the Block" competition and he had won it all by himself. Donny told her that everyone was against him in the house.

Victoria Rafaeli squealed on Donny, telling the guys about Donny and Nicole's conversation. Cody and Derrick, in turn, promised Victoria they'd keep her safe because both Donny and Nicole were getting nominated without a doubt.

All the houseguests -- minus Frankie, who as the outgoing HoH, was deemed ineligible to participate -- competed in a boxing-themed Head of Household competition, which would end with only one winner since the "Battle of the Block" twist is no longer in effect.

Although it was close between Cody and Donny, Cody ended up winning the competition.

Nicole suggested to Cody the guys would betray him eventually and he should keep her because she could do work for him if he needed it. Cody admitted to cameras Nicole could be a "sneaky asset" to him and realized it might be smart to keep people around who would keep him safe.

Cody then told Derrick maybe they should be more concerned about Christine than Nicole, and Derrick agreed with his Final 2 ally that Christine was "playing hard" and selfishly in that as long as it wasn't her on the block, things were fine.

Derrick also insisted that Christine was playing both sides of the "Detonators" alliance. Cody and Derrick appeared to be one side of that alliance while Frankie and Christine were on the other.

Caleb Reynolds was a wild card and not included in the group, however, the guys made him feel like he was a member of their alliance because he seemed to be a loyal guy.

In a last-ditch attempt to save himself, Donny told Cody the guys would keep Victoria around -- after both himself and Nicole get evicted -- because she couldn't win any of the competitions. Cody therefore briefly considered going after Christine or Frankie first because he had to think about what's best for his own game.

Meanwhile, Donny and Derrick's relationship was awkward because both guys wanted to trust one another again but needed the other to prove his loyalty, which neither houseguest was up for. Derrick believed Donny had been going after him and vice versa. Derrick said in a confessional he had Donny's back throughout most of the game but the gesture didn't come without difficulty or complications.

At the nomination ceremony, Cody announced he wanted to put Nicole and Donny on the block, which didn't come as a surprise to anyone in the house. Cody complimented Nicole on how amazing she is and then told Donny he was chatting too much in the house, making him an "immediate threat."

Cody clearly went with what the alliance wanted. However, if either Nicole or Donny manages to get off the block thanks to the upcoming Power of Veto competition, Cody noted he's ready to target someone in his alliance like Christine or Frankie.
