Big Brother's Head of Household Austin Matelson's two nominations were kept the same after Vanessa Rousso won the Power of Veto during Wednesday night's broadcast on CBS.

On Day 65, Austin said nominating John McGuire and Steve Moses for eviction posed the least risk to his own game, however, Vanessa  was still on his radar. But John didn't feel safe, and Steve felt betrayed because he had begged Austin not to put him on the chopping block next to his buddy and close ally John.

Steve really appreciated and admired Vanessa's gameplay since she, once again, avoided nomination. Austin told Vanessa it just wasn't in his best interest to get rid of her this week, and she expressed how thankful she was for that. But in the back of Austin's mind, his alter-ego Judas was still considering backdooring Vanessa.

Austin then told Steve he was going to be safe if he got to keep the nominations the same. Otherwise, John or Vanessa would be going home. Austin apologized for targeting John but explained they had formed an alliance last.

When players were picked for the Power of Veto competition, in addition to Austin, John and Steve, the other houseguests selected were Meg Maley and Julia Nolan.

While Steve was working to keep his relationship with Vanessa strong, Liz Nolan pointed out to Austin it was important to separate Steve and John.

John felt his back was against the wall, so he decided to "make a deal with the devil" by trying to work with Vanessa again. Vanessa tried to convince Austin to keep John around, but Austin just wasn't having it, so Vanessa admitted to John there was nothing she could do to keep him around.

In a last-ditch effort, John revealed there was a five-person alliance -- including himself, Steve and Austin -- that tried to evict her the prior week. John tried to make Vanessa think she couldn't trust her closest allies in the house. Vanessa confronted Liz, who denied it at first but then confessed to the plan.

Liz insisted the plan had been orchestrated by Steve, which threw Vanessa for a loop. Vanessa believed Liz and acted rudely to Steve from that point forward. Steve was really confused about what was going on, but it was clear Vanessa felt extremely betrayed by him.

Vanessa then approached Steve and asked him to admit he was behind the plan to get her out. Steve was completely confused, and although he said, "No," it wasn't convincing at all. Vanessa told Steve he had lost her vote.

Vanessa ended up winning the Power of Veto, which prompted Austin to keep his original two nominations the same at the Veto Meeting in order to get less blood on his hands.

Vanessa felt terrible to discover the whole house wanted her gone, but she felt good to win the Veto and have the last laugh this week.
