"Hi everyone I have some news to share with you. Last night I got a call & went to the doctor with my family today. I was told I have cancer," Kevin wrote.

"I'm not posting this for sympathy but to raise awareness. Please go to regular check-ups & doctors appointments. Get tested & always be aware of how you feel. I FEEL perfectly healthy but that is not the case."

Kevin learned the bad news during a routine doctor's visit, and he will be undergoing surgery on November 26.

Although fighting cancer can be a terrifying ordeal, Kevin apparently feels very optimistic about his future.

"I will beat this with the love & support from my family and close friends. Again, PLEASE get checked, it can save your life! Thank you for taking the time to read this," Kevin continued in his Twitter post.

"I love and appreciate all of you & your supportive words mean more now than ever. All my love to you, KEVIN. #Family #LOVE #CANCERSUCKS #standuptocancer #fuckcancer #CANCERAWARENESS #BB19."

Kevin's daughters are currently selling "Team Kevin" T-shirts to support their father's journey to recovery.

Kevin competed on Season 19 of Big Brother last summer and quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his thick Boston accent, quirky personality, and memorable fashion sense.

In fact, Kevin was in the running to become "America's Favorite Houseguest," which ultimately went to Cody Nickson.

Kevin lasted in the game for 86 days and finished Big Brother in fourth place.

Kevin was the reason, however, for the return of veteran player Paul Abrahamian when he decided to take a $25,000 temptation prize at the beginning of the game.
