Big Brother introduced its new "BB App Store" twist into the game, giving Sam Bledsoe a special power, during Sunday night's Season 20 broadcast on CBS.

Sam, a 27-year-old welder from Stuarts Draft, VA, was declared America's top-trending houseguest. As a result, she could pick one of the following powers: "Re-Draw," "Bonus Life," "Upgrade," "The Cloud," or "Identity Theft."

Sam chose "Bonus Life" because the power sounded so positive, and she learned she could give herself or one houseguest of her choosing the chance to return to the game if evicted.

Sam, who had been living the past few days as a robot, felt rejuvenated in the game, knowing America is on her side.

In addition, Faysal Shafaat, a 26-year-old substitute teacher from Orlando, FL, discovered he was the least-trending houseguest, so he received a punishment.

The Big Brother broadcast began on Day 5 with Sam and Steve Arienta on the chopping block thanks to the first Head of Household of the season, Tyler Crispen.

Tyler had put Steve and Sam on the block because they were the easy targets and had been the first two houseguests eliminated from the previous Head of Household competition. Steve also wasn't a member of a tight alliance, and Sam had been missing in action given she was forced to become a robot.

Chris "Swaggy C" Williams said in a confessional Tyler's game was "wack as hell" because he had the opportunity to take a big threat out of the house early on.

Tyler felt bad about nominating Steve and Sam for eviction, but he intentionally "put on the waterworks" in front of everyone so they would view him as "a softie" and hopefully feel no hard feelings toward him.

But Steve was not alone in the game. He and Scottie Salton were shown bonding, as Sam was just creating waves in the house out of frustration over her nomination, especially with Kaitlyn Herman.

Sam was finding life as a robot in the Big Brother house difficult, but Tyler needed his pal to keep herself together for the sake of his own game.

Meanwhile, showmances began to spark. Swaggy C thought Haleigh Broucher was "the dopest girl" he's ever met, and she in turn liked Chris' confidence and personality. The pair cozied up in bed together and enjoyed each other's company.

At this point in the season, the house has two major alliances. On one side of the house is Angela Rummans, Brett Winston, Tyler, Rachel Swindler, and Kaycee Clark. They call themselves "Level 6."

Angela knew she was the other side's target, but Brett assured his alliance they were "rock solid" and reminded them paranoia is "toxic" in this game.

The other alliance is comprised of Swaggy C, Kaitlyn, Angie "Rockstar" Lantry, Haleigh Broucher, and Faysal. They dubbed their alliance "FOUTTE" -- meaning "Five of us to the end."

Later in the episode, Swaggy C and Bayleigh Dayton were shown kissing in bed. Swaggy C was angry at himself, however, for getting involved in a showmance when $500,000 was on the line.

Sam then got to return to the house as a person, not a robot. However, Sam felt lonely and believed she was an outcast from the group, almost like she was "a ghost." JC told the cameras Sam was only making herself a target by crying and complaining that she no longer wanted to live in the house.

In addition to Sam, Steve and Scottie, JC was considered another "floater" by Faysal, Brett, and Swaggy C.

The three guys agreed to knock out the floaters first if either of them won subsequent HoH or Power of Veto competitions, but Brett's loyalty lied with his alliance, and he wasn't sincerely onboard with this plan. In fact, Brett ran back to his alliance and told them Swaggy C was running the show.

Because of Swaggy C's belief he held most of the power in the house in his hands, Tyler realized he could nominate his closest ally, Bayleigh, for eviction after the PoV competition.

Big Brother's next high-tech twist was then introduced.

In the "BB App Store," America answers a series of questions each week to determine the top-trending houseguests. The houseguests could be trending for any reason -- good or bad -- and they would never know why.

The top-trending houseguest is able to choose one Power App in the store, which would grant him or her a special power in the Big Brother game. However, the houseguest who is least trending each week would also select something in the "BB App Store," a Crap App, which would inflict a punishment on that houseguest.

One by one, everyone entered the "BB App Store" in last night's episode, where they were told in secret whether they're the top or least-trending houseguest this week. Once a houseguest receives an app on Season 20, he or she will not eligible to receive another.

Faysal was disappointed to find out he was the least-trending houseguest, and so he had to pick a Crap App. He could choose from "Fake News," "Read it," "Hamazon," or "Spammed."

Faysal chose Hamazon, thinking he must eat something nasty. He just didn't want to choose something that would have a negative impact on his game.

For Hamazon, Faysal must eat ham every time it's delivered to the house, and unfortunately for him, he doesn't even eat ham.

As for Sam, her "Bonus Life" power will be good through the first four evictions. But there's a catch!

If "Bonus Life" is not used at one of the first three evictions, the fourth person evicted from the game automatically gets a chance to return to the Big Brother house. Sam really appreciated the love and support from America, and she said she's ready to play!
