After Jozea was evicted, Big Brother host Julie Chen revealed he's not necessarily eliminated from the game. The season's next big twist is a competition called "Battle Back" in which one of the first five evicted houseguests can compete for a chance to re-enter the house.
Jozea will soon battle the season's first evicted houseguest, Glenn Garcia, and then the winner of that faceoff will compete in a challenge against the next person to be evicted from the house. The winner moves on and the loser goes home until one person remains.
Thursday night's Big Brother broadcast began with Victor Arroyo, a 25-year-old gym manager from Slidell, LA, thinking he was in a solid alliance of six with Paul Abrahamian, a 23-year-old clothing designer from Tarzana, CA; Bronte D'Acquisto, a 26-year-old student who currently resides in Denver, CO; Natalie Negrotti, a 26-year-old event coordinator who currently resides in Franklin Park, NJ; Zakiyah Everette, a 24-year-old preschool teacher from Charlotte, NC; and veteran player Da'Vonne Rogers (Season 17).
The group discussed the possibility of a tie, which Head of Household Nicole Franzel (Season 16) would have the power to break. While Paul was planning through worst case scenarios, his buddy Jozea was preparing for a landslide vote to evict Paulie.
However, Jozea tried to connect with Nicole just in case. She played it off well but wanted nothing to do with him since he publicly admitted she was one of his main targets since Day 1. Nicole also learned that Bridgette had been spying on the HoH room, which was really disappointing since she liked Bridgette as a person.
An "Eight Pack" alliance has already been established this season, however, five girls wanted to make it to the end together and intended to never waver -- Da'Vonne; Nicole; Zakiyah; Michelle Meyer, a 23-year-old nutritionist from Washington Township, MI; and Tiffany Rousso, a 32-year-old high school teacher who currently resides in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. The girls called their alliance the "Fatal 5."
Meanwhile, Bridgette, Bronte and Natalie began to worry they were on the outside of the majority alliance because no one was trying to scheme with them or make a deal. If Jozea went home, Bronte acknowledged the other side of the house would be a lot stronger than she anticipated.
Zakiyah then told Nicole, Michelle and Da'Vonne how Bridgette complained she couldn't trust Nicole and believed the veteran player would stab anyone in the back if she needed to. Because Bridgette was being shady, Da'Vonne began to reconsider whom the target should be. Da'Vonne called Bridgette "a wolf in sheep's clothing."
Personalities in the house were also started to clash. Natalie couldn't stand how Victor commented on everything and always had an opinion. She simply didn't think he was a nice guy. And Paul was annoyed with James Huling (Season 17) for not allowing him to participate in certain conversations.
Bronte also seemed to cut ties from Paul, Victor and Jozea because the men refused to listen to her and cooperate.
When it became time to vote for this week's eviction, Victor, Paul, Bronte and Natalie all voted for Paulie. Everyone else in the house cast his or her vote for Jozea.

In his post-eviction interview with Julie, Jozea admitted he felt most betrayed by Natalie because of her impressive "last-minute switcheroo." He said people were weak-minded in the house and let gossip get the best of them. Jozea also said that he regretfully announced Nicole was his target because she had played the game like a snake before.
Jozea added that being honest and bold led to his downfall rather than his uprising, and if he could play Big Brother all over again, he'd go into the house "tight-lipped" and make one best friend.
The episode concluded with the next Head of Household competition. As the outgoing HoH, Nicole was not allowed to compete.
For the challenge, each previously-selected team was required to race across a balance beam one player at a time relay-style in order to retrieve a single berry. One must then return it to the start and place it in one of four columns, which each held 10 berries.
The tricky part? There were two paths to retrieve berries: A shorter but more difficult route, and then a longer but easier beam. If a person fell off the balance beam, that team's column of berries would be dumped out and that person would also be out of the challenge.
The first team to get 40 berries across the balance beam must then choose one teammate to retrieve the final HoH blueberry and return it to the start. If successful, that person would become HoH for the week and grant his or her entire team safety from eviction.
