Big Brother evicted Sam Smith over Kathryn Dunn after Sam had attempted to blow up Christie Murphy's game during Thursday night's live eviction episode of Season 21 on CBS.

Sam, a 31-year-old truck driver from West Nanticoke, PA, who currently resides in Mountain Top, PA, was sent packing from the game through a 9-0 unanimous vote on Day 44 instead of Kat, a 29-year-old digital marketing executive from Irving, TX, who currently resides in Dallas, TX, who had been placed on the chopping block as a pawn to begin with.

Big Brother host Julie Chen pointed out to Sam in his post-eviction interview that the house had flipped and was so close to voting out Kat about an hour before going live.

When Julie asked Sam why he ended up being the one to go, Sam replied, "I think Kat cried more than I did. I should have whipped up some tears and went in there, like, 'Oh my family! What am I going to do?!' I should've had more of a pity party."

Sam added the Six Shooters alliance will not survive going forward and he predicts Jack Matthews might go after Jackson Michie next.

The Big Brother broadcast began on Day 41, and the Six Shooters -- Jack, Analyse Talavera, Michie, Holly Allen, Christie, and Tommy Bracco -- had the majority and controlled the vote.

Nick Maccarone therefore predicted Sam was going to be the one to walk out the door.

"One of the guys in this bromance has to go," Holly said in the Diary Room of Nick and Sam.

Kat said she might have just made a "maverick game move" by convincing her Final 2 ally, Holly, to nominate her as a pawn in order to hide their relationship, but she was scared her plan might backfire and she'd be voted out.

Analyse said Sam was the only person in the house who made her laugh and so she wished she could keep him around.

Kat then told Holly that Christie had told her and Jessica on Day 32 she had no intention to go to Final 6 with couples. Christie said at the time she'd love to go deep into the game with players such as Nicole Anthony and Cliff Hogg.

Holly said she had to keep an eye on Christie, and then she told Analyse that Christie made her "nervous," especially because she was playing "really hard."

Holly noticed Christie felt like she needed to be in control of everything and made decisions for everyone without even consulting with them first. Analyse agreed Christie made her feel paranoid.

Cliff told Christie there were four powerful people in the game and she and Tommy would have to win some competitions in order to survive. Cliff wanted the couples to turn on each other soon before they'd begin picking the outsiders off one by one.

Christie agreed the couples needed to be split up because she didn't want to go to Final 6 with them. Christie assumed Tommy and herself would be the first targets of the six.

Christie was preparing herself for "a war," saying it was "going to be bloody."

Holly then shared her suspicions with Jackson about Christie's future plans and said she was tired of doing Christie's dirty work. Michie acknowledged Christie was "good at this game" and always seemed to be three or four steps ahead.

Sam then attempted to "blow up the alliance of six" by telling Michie that Christie had promised to back Cliff during his HoH reign even if he had targeted Michie or Jack.

Christie had told Cliff at the time she simply wanted the vote to be anyone but herself.

Sam alleged Christie had said she'd be Cliff's "b-tch" that week and vote out anyone he wanted. Michie was very concerned about this news, and then Sam suggested Michie should use him for his game.

Sam told Michie that he'd be willing to work with him and Holly, and as a result, Michie began considering keep Sam around to go after Christie.

Holly and Michie determined Christie was trying to make an alliance with the other side of the house and she needed to go, but Holly insisted they couldn't get rid of Kat this week. Holly regretted not nominating Nicole instead to begin with.

"I should have just listened to my gut! I could've put Nicole up and kept Sam and Kat here as allies, but instead, I listened to Christie and she got what she wanted!" Holly complained in a confessional.

Michie and Holly felt they had been played by Christie, and then Michie shared the details they knew with Jack.

"Christie was 1,000 percent onboard with voting you out," Michie told Jack.

But Jack didn't think Christie would nominate either one of them if she happened to win the next Head of Household competition. Michie pointed out, however, she would at some point.

Michie therefore suggested they keep Sam around because he had promised to take a shot at Christie. Jack didn't think Christie would be dumb enough to move against Six Shooters.

In her speech before the live eviction, Kat told America she's all about gender equality and equal pay and she's playing so that her parents will be proud of her and the strong woman she is.

Sam announced he had planted little seeds in the house and walked into rooms where he heard everyone's name being said. Sam's goal had been to blow up the house, and he appeared to accomplish that.

Everyone then cast their votes for eviction one by one, and all the houseguests voted for Sam.

Julie then announced a new competition will be introduced in the game. Over the next week, America will be able to vote for three houseguests to go on "a field trip" and take part in a special competition.

Voting ends August 9, and the three houseguests who receive the most votes will compete in a special competition. The winner will be safe from eviction that week, while the second-place finisher will receive a punishment.

And the houseguest to finish the competition in last place will be put on the chopping block as a third nominee.

The next Head of Household competition of the summer dubbed "Camp Expo" then commenced.

The houseguests -- minus Holly, who as the outgoing HoH was deemed ineligible to compete -- were required to memorize a series of ads in themed kiosks for various camps that were set up in the backyard.

The players had to answer "True" or "False" based on the advertisements they had reviewed, and one wrong answer would get a person eliminated. The last player standing would become the new Head of Household.
