Neil Garcia's nearly week-old departure from the Big Brother: 'Til Death Do You Part house was finally revealed to television viewers during last night's ninth-season broadcast of the CBS reality show, however the details surrounding his unexpected exit still remained unexplained.

The 29-year-old gay Los Angeles real estate agent's cryptic departure was revealed to viewers by his Big Brother perfect-match partner Joshuah Welch, a gay 25-year-old Dallas advertising media buyer.
"Big Brother called me into the Diary Room to inform me and the rest of the house that Neil will be leaving the game due to an urgent, personal matter," said Welch, awkwardly reading what appeared to be an obviously pre-prepared statement. "Because this is a couples game, I now need a replacement partner."
Welch then explained his options were Sharon Obermueller and Jacob Heald, the perfect-match pair that had already been previously evicted after only a couple of nights in the Big Brother house.
"Since Jacob and Sharon have been sequestered and have had no contact with the outside world since being evicted, I was allowed to choose one of them as my new partner. Let's see, [I have] Jacob, who is basically hated in the house, or Sharon, his partner. It was kind of a no-brainer. I went with Sharon. Now I am a straight man in the house with my hot wife."

Obermueller then emerged from behind a Diary Room curtain and the two embraced. Welch gathered the other houseguests in the living room, and Obermueller emerged.
"Hi crazy asses!" she exclaimed, receiving hugs from the others.
Garcia was only slightly less cryptic than Welch's presumably producer-prepared explanation in a statement posted on his own MySpace blog on Monday evening.
"Thank you so much for the outpouring care, support, and concern from all the Big Brother fans. This has been a difficult time for my family, which I am dealing with privately. The drama is slowly being resolved, and all is headed to a brighter place," wrote Garcia.
"I am now happy to say, that I am spending time with close friends and family. I wish Joshuah the best of luck and hope that he keeps up our brilliant strategy to win the big prize with my replacement, Sharon. Please know that I will NOT be back to the Big Brother house and contrary to some web speculation, I was not let go for health reasons. Eeek! Again, thanks to each and every one of you for your support during all of this Big Brother business."

Garcia's explanation also included a postscript of, "-Shit Happens- >: O."
Assuming the information in Garcia's MySpace posting and Welch's Diary Room statement are accurate, Garcia is the first American Big Brother contestant to ever voluntarily leave the competition.
