Bindi Irwin has opened up about her first boyfriend, professional wakeboarder Chandler Powell.
The 17-year-old Australian conservationist discussed her 18-year-old American beau with Sunday Style of the Australian Telegraph.
Irwin had confirmed she is seeing "someone special" to "Entertainment Tonight" just two weeks previous.
"I was blessed to meet Chandler and his family back in November 2013," she revealed. "We remained in touch and stayed friends. Since then, our friendship has developed into something really special."
"He is passionate about wildlife and an extraordinary wakeboarder," she gushed. "We are excited to be achieving more conservation work together ... I feel lucky to have him in my life."
Irwin resides in Australia, while Powell lives in the United States.
The teenager said she and her boyfriend keep in touch via Snapchat and Skype, and the pair are often pictured together on social media despite their long distance relationship.
Irwin is the eldest child of Terri Irwin and late "Crocodile Hunter" star Steve Irwin, who died after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb at age 44 in 2006.
She has continued her father's conservation work, and her show, "Bindi's Bootcamp," was recently picked up by Netflix.
