Blaine Long was a big hit when he performed "Have a Little Faith in Me" for his Blind Audition, but the singer had no idea what to expect from the competition after that.

"You have no idea what the coaches are looking for or the producers. So, for me, honestly, I was just confused and trying to do my best the whole time," Blaine told Reality TV World.

Blaine, a 40-year-old from Chander, AZ, auditioned for The Voice after working numerous odd jobs for years ranging from construction to fast food. However, his passion has always been music, and he gigs about four times a week at various bars and restaurants.

After hearing Blaine sing, Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus and Adam Levine all turned around for him and fought to have him on their teams. The only reason coach Alicia Keys didn't press her button was because her team had already been filled.

Blaine can now focus solely on songwriting and singing while being a member of Blake's team, but in order to make it to the live shows, he needs to survive the "Battle Round" followed by the "Knockout Round."

As for whether he believes he has an advantage heading into his Battle since all of the coaches wanted him, Blaine said, "I think anything goes."

He elaborated, "I mean, when you talk to any contestant at any time, there are rumors flying with everybody guessing and everybody thinking they know exactly what is happening behind the scenes. So, for me, my experience was anything can happen, so just do your best."

Blaine seems to think the contestants are all on a level playing field from this point on.

"Everything has to do with everything, and everything has to do with nothing... I have no idea. I don't think anything matters," he told Reality TV World with a laugh.

Although Blaine will be duking it out in a Battle for the chance to stay on "Team Blake," he admitted to reporters during a conference call earlier this week he initially hoped to work with a different coach.

"I originally went in wanting Alicia. I was very excited for that opportunity, but to be honest, I didn't think anybody would turn at all, so having to choose was strange," Blaine explained.

"I don't consider myself a country artist. I don't consider myself a rock artist either and I'm on that chart. But what [Blake] said at one point was, 'As an original artist, I will fight for you with the producers. I will make sure you'll get the right songs,' and so that right there -- I felt like I had someone on my side."

Blaine therefore said he "had to pick" Blake, that it was a no-brainer at that point.

The Voice's eleventh-season Battles will begin on Monday, October 10 at 8PM ET/PT on NBC.
