Blake Moynes has revealed what he said in his initial DM to Katie Thurston on Instagram before she began filming The Bachelorette's seventeenth season.

Blake, a 30-year-old wildlife manager from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, dished the details of his very first exchange with Katie during a Thursday appearance on Tayshia Adams' Click Bait with Bachelor Nation podcast, which was co-hosted by Mike Johnson and Bibiana Julian.

Blake revealed he had actually reached out to Katie after the "very first episode" of Matt James' The Bachelor season.
"She came out of that limo with that vibrator. I was like, 'Yeah, I like what she's about.' But it's not the fact that she had a f-ck-ng vibrator, that's not what I was like, 'Oh yeah, that's my girl.' No!" Blake recalled.

"It's the fact that she, like, had the balls to have fun with it and go with it and go with the flow."
Blake said he appreciated how Katie "rolled with" her bold entrance despite some pushback from her fellow bachelorettes and handled herself with "confidence."
Blake therefore decided to get in touch with Katie in order to compliment her.
"It was just literally a simple reach out. It wasn't like, 'Hey, I'm into you.' No, it was like, 'I f-ck-ng love that you did that. That was f-ck-ng awesome. Good for you,' and this and that," Blake shared.
"It wasn't like, 'Hey, I'm super into you! I want you.' No. And that was out of respect, you know?"

Blake said, however, Katie's responses back to him were "very cold" and so there was no follow-up conversation.
"She was nice, but there was just no -- like, she didn't open up her dialogue in any way," Blake recalled. "So it was shutdown right then and there, and it was kind of like, left alone."

But as Matt's season progressed, Blake admitted he liked what he saw and wasn't ready to give up on Katie just yet.
"Towards the end [of Matt's season], I was thinking, 'What if I just f-ck-ng do this and show up?! I f-cking hate going on The Bachelor, it's scary! But what if I just f-ck-ng do it?! It's not fun to do it once... and so to go back and do that sh-t again, I must have been out of my mind," Blake said with a laugh.

At the time, Blake was apparently considering a stint on Bachelor in Paradise's upcoming season.
But once Katie was officially announced as the Season 17 The Bachelorette star on ABC in March, Blake said he grew determined to just meet the anti-bullying, fun-loving Washington native and just "see what happens."
"I [thought to myself], 'We're a lot alike. What if there is a crazy romance there? Depending on how well we get along, this could be something crazy!'" Blake said.
The wildlife manager therefore "pulled the trigger" and reached out to producers to go on The Bachelorette, which resulted in his ex, The Bachelorette Season 16 star Tayshia Adams, giving him her approval and blessing to talk to Katie.
On Monday night's episode of The Bachelorette, Katie could sense she and Blake had chemistry right away, and so she decided to allow him to join her cast and compete for her heart.

Katie knocked on Blake's hotel-room door in the middle of the night after the season's third Rose Ceremony to share the good news, and Blake appeared ecstatic although he was tired, in his boxers, and then got locked out of his room.
