Blake Shelton has officially been crowned People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for the year 2017.

The Voice coach and country music singer has therefore graced this week's cover of People magazine, which was released on Wednesday. The cover features Blake posing in a denim button-down shirt with one hand behind his head, showing off his tattooed arm.

When asked what went through his mind when he first learned of this honor, Blake joked with the magazine, "That y'all must be running out of people. Like, Wow, we're down to somebody who is somewhat symmetrical."

On a more serious note, Blake, 41, thanks his girlfriend, former The Voice coach Gwen Stefani, for pushing him to accept the sexy title.

"She goes, 'Listen to me, you're going to regret this for the rest of your life if you don't take this gift and just live in the moment," Blake recalled of the conversation he had with his "You Make It Feel Like Christmas" duet partner.

But Blake apparently had another incentive for embracing the crown -- the fact he could rub it in his The Voice co-star and friend Adam Levine's face.

"I can't wait to shove this up Adam's ass," Blake told People of the Maroon 5 frontman, who was also named Sexiest Man Alive in 2013. "As proud as I am and honored that you guys asked me, that's really the only thing I care about."

Gossip Cop reported on Monday that Blake would receive the honor of Sexiest Man Alive this year, and then the big news was announced on Tuesday night's broadcast of The Voice's thirteenth season.

At the very beginning of the episode, Blake was shown escorting a blindfolded Adam in a golf cart to a series of tall buildings.

Before asking Adam to remove the blindfold, Blake said, "This is a great source of pride, and I win!"

Adam and viewers at home then bestowed their eyes upon a giant billboard of Blake's People magazine cover for the new issue.

"What?!" Adam yelled.

"Look how sexy [that is]. Look at that. It says, 'Sexiest Man Alive,' which means that I am the sexiest man that's living right now," Blake bragged to his close pal.

"I'm proud of you, buddy, because I'm only friends with other SMAs," Adam noted.

"You're friends with Hugh Jackman?" Blake asked.

"Yeah, I'm having dinner with all the other guys tonight," Adam joked.

Blake is a 6'5" Oklahoma-bred singer whose latest album Texoma Shore just hit No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums this week.

During his interview with People, Blake seemed pretty stunned that he's been declared the Sexiest Man Alive given his background.

"I think to describe myself as a child, one word comes to mind. And that's fat," Blake said. "People say I haven't changed since before I made it. And I'm still fat today. That's proof!"

Blake admitted he maintains his sexy appearance by exercising on a treadmill and maintaining healthy eating habits. However, all bets are off when he returns home to Tishomingo, OK.

"It could be two o'clock in the afternoon before I eat and then I realize I'm starving, so then it's a bag of Cheetos," Blake revealed.

"And there's a Sonic in town, they got jalapeno poppers. And then I'm not hungry again until ten o'clock, well what's in there? Fishsticks. And like a big pickle, those pickles that come in its own package with juice? It is really bad."

Blake added that his love for chips and dips is "a problem."

The humble guy now has bragging rights that he's the Sexiest Man Alive, which gives him "confirmation" that he's good looking.

"It's going to be used in every conversation, whether it's at The Voice, or at the feed in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, or in a conversation with a doctor," Blake admitted.

"When [people] would say to Adam, 'Mr. Sexy,' you'd always see him go, 'Well, awwww.' If you say that to me, it's going to be, 'You're damn right, I'm Mr. Sexy!' I've been ugly my whole life, if I can be sexy for a year, I'm taking it. I'm taking it."

Dwayne Johnson was crowned People's Sexiest Man Alive last year for 2016. Previous honorees include retired pro soccer player David Beckham in 2015 and actor Chris Hemsworth in 2014.

Blake just released a clothing line with Macy's and has served as a mainstay coach on The Voice with Adam since the series debuted on NBC in Spring 2011.

Prior to dating Gwen, he was married to singer Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015.
