Nick, Emma and Timbaland seemed to determine that Cameron would be better off as a solo artist since he's a powerful singer and commands the stage.
"Boy Band was the best experience of my entire life. I got to work with some extremely talented guys and I made a lot of friends, friends that I can call my brothers," Cameron said in tears following his ouster.
Cameron performed the Bruno Mars hit in his group who called themselves "Uplift" after training and rehearsing with vocal producer Tim Davis, musical director Adam Blackstone, and a choreographer.
Cameron's group members were Sergio Calderon, a 16-year-old from Redwood City, CA; Drew Ramos, a 19-year-old from Bronx, NY; Jay "J Hype" Gilbert, a 14-year-old from Las Vegas, NV; Devin Hayes, a 17-year-old from Springfield, IL; and Marcus Pendleton, a 16-year-old from Nashville, TN.
Cameron's five bandmates were declared safe in last night's episode after taking the stage, while the other two groups of six members -- who named themselves "Reverb" and "Six Track" -- will perform in the coming weeks and also face elimination.
The season's Top 18 were chosen by the architects after the show's 30 previously-selected contestants each sang a solo song. Some of the boys were also tested with freestyling, harmonizing, and dancing a little choreography.
Reverb is made up of Andrew Bloom, a 19-year-old from Yorba Linda, CA; Jon Klaasen, a 19-year-old from Greenwood, IN; Jaden Gray, a 16-year-old from Hawthorne, CA; Cam Jackson, a 19-year-old from Willingboro, NJ; Brady Tutton, a 15-year-old from Shorewood, WI; and Chance Perez, a 19-year-old from Seal Beach, CA.
Six Track is comprised of Gavin Becker, an 18-year-old from Philadelphia, PA; Dorian Tyler, a 15-year-old from Memphis, TN; Andrew Butcher, a 17-year-old from Greenwood, IN; Miles Wesley, a 19-year-old from Marble Falls, TX; Michael Conor, a 17-year-old from Cleveland, OH; and Mikey Jimenez, a 17-year-old from East Los Angeles, CA.
The live shows begin in three weeks. Each episode will feature a different theme, and the architects will shuffle contestants to find the best combination of voices to perform for America.
Architects will also critique each band's performance and collectively determine the two contestants who are up for elimination each week.
After the contestants in jeopardy perform solo "survival" songs, home viewers will be able to vote live for their favorite band members during each broadcast, ultimately creating a group of their very own.

Boy Band's final and official group will win a recording contract with Hollywood Records. And in the finale, America's favorite five band members will debut and perform a brand new single together for the first time.
Beginning on June 29, the show will air one-hour broadcasts each week at 8PM ET/PT on ABC. The series is hosted by Rita Ora.
