"The Persian-American community in Los Angeles is a perfect fit for Bravo's next great docu-series. The group of friends featured in our show are colorful, affluent, and fun," Bravo executive and Watch What Happens Live! host Andy Cohen said in a statement.

"Ryan and his team understand what our viewers want to see and when they brought us this group we responded immediately. There's not a show like it on TV."

Seacrest is also excited for the new docu-reality series to take off.

"We're pleased to bring this exciting new story of a distinct and compelling community of Los Angeles to the Bravo audience," the American Idol host added. "The series will offer rich characters and relatable storylines about everyday life -- love, work, friendship, and family -- steeped in a diverse culture, which is wildly entertaining and fun."

Shahs of Sunset will feature longtime Persian-American friends balancing their social lives -- an opulent lifestyle filled with chromed-out cars and designer bags and clothing -- in LA with their new careers, all the while embracing their culture and values.

Shahs of Sunset is being produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions with Seacrest serving as executive producer.
