Stating that its primetime lineup will now be "twice as queer," Bravo has announced that Queer Eye for the Straight Girl, the long since announced spinoff of its popular (but somewhat fading) Queer Eye for the Straight Guy series will debut this month and join the network's weekly lineup.

"Straight women everywhere are about to get their wish," stated Bravo president Lauren Zalaznick. "From the beginning women have been asking when the Fab 5 will offer their services to women. Bravo has granted their wishes with Queer Eye for the Straight Girl and the Gal Pals. We couldn't be more pleased to have two sibling shows that stand on their own unique merits yet, at the core, share the sensibilities that made Queer Eye for the Straight Guy hugely popular with viewers. Both can boast a big heart, terrific senses of humor and style, and amazing casts."
Similar to the original Queer Eye series, each episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Girl will center on a woman's "life-affirming event" -- and it will be up to the Gal Pals (the network's name for Girl's Fab 5, which in Girl will only number four and include the franchise's first lesbian) to make sure she's fully prepared-on the inside and out. But unlike it's Straight Guy big brother, Girl will be less focused on "the broad strokes and more about the fine-tuning," with the featured straight woman playing a much more active role in their transformations.
Queer Eye for the Straight Girl's four "Gal Pals" are:
• Robbie Laughlin, the Gal Pal with "The Look," an all-in-one guide who helps straight girls to build a great look from head-to-toe. Born in Yamhill, Oregon, Robbie received a bachelor of fine arts degree in Theatre from Cornish College of The Arts in Seattle.
• Danny Teeson, "The Life" specialist who bringing his talents in everything from cuisine, dance, exercise and entertaining to each straight girl to build a lifestyle. A native of England, Danny grew up learning about food and wine at his family's restaurant in Paros, Greece. He was a member of the original London cast of Fame the Musical and after relocating to Los Angeles, Danny founded Danny Teeson Productions and has produced, designed, choreographed and directed many LA fashion and trade shows.
• Damon Pease, "The Locale" expert and the Gal Pal who literally builds dreams. By matching the perfect aesthetic to any location and occasion, Damon creates, designs, and builds spaces that reflect each girl's personal aesthetic. He recently served as both the set and guest designer on Colin Cowie's "Everyday Elegance," where he oversaw the daily dressing of the show's living room, dining room and kitchen sets for visiting designers on the show.
• Honey Labrador, the first lesbian "Queer Eye." As "The Lady," Labrador ensures that all aspects of each make-better have a female perspective, touching on all categories as they relate to women. From make-up and beauty, to healthy living to sexual confidence, Honey brings her broad range of skills, and a fresh perspective, to being The Lady. Honey, the mother of a teenage daughter, began her career as a model at the age of 17 and covered New York, Paris, Milan, and London. Honey also served as fashion editor for Country Magazine and the head of development at Passion Films, Inc.
According to the episode description released by Bravo, Queer Eye for the Straight Girl's premiere will feature, Nicole H., a woman who is on the verge of a mid-life crisis due to the fact that she is facing her 30th birthday party.
Like Cinderella before her ball, Nicole has suffered the loss of her father, lived in conditions unbecoming of a princess, and has little hope for a stimulating love life. Determined to release Nicole's confident, sexy side, the Gal Pals turn Nicole into "less Charlotte - and more harlot." Ready and willing, Nicole embraces a confident new self and a grand new beginning. With the aid of her Gal Pals, Nicole realizes that "30 is the new 20" and she is more than deserving of a happy life.
