In addition, Coffey will introduce viewers to the different salon owners and employees and how they deal with her taking over their beauty parlor and attempting to transform it into a success.
Once her salon makeover is complete, the owners will learn if they'll be able to get their businesses back to the level they should be working at or if they'll instead have to close the doors for good.
The five salons Coffey will visit are Ten Salon in Long Beach, CA; De Cielo Salon in Burbank, CA; Martino-Giovanni & Pileggi in Sewell, NJ; Images Hair Salon in Oyster Bay, NY; and Tika Salon in Rockville Centre, NY.
Coffey was cast for Shear Genius' Spring 2007 first season, in which she made it to the competition's Final 6 but was one of two contestants eliminated during the show's sixth episode.
Bravo ordered the pilot for Tabatha's Salon Takeover in January.
Tabatha's Salon Takeover is produced by Reveille -- the production company that also produces Shear Genius and was founded by NBC Entertainment and NBC Universal Television Studio co-chairman Ben Silverman. (Bravo is owned by NBC Universal, the same parent company that also owns both NBC and NBC Universal Television Studio, its in-house production company.)
Mark Koops and Sarah-Jane Cohen are serving as executive producers.
