Anyone who watched VH1's Breaking Bonaduce docu-reality series could have seen this coming.

Gretchen Bonaduce filed for divorce from former Partridge Family star Danny Bonaduce last week after more than 16 years of marriage, The Associated Press reported on Thursday. The couple -- which married in December 1990 -- separated on April 9.
"I really don't want a divorce," Danny told radio host Adam Carolla on Tuesday morning's syndicated "The Adam Carolla Show," according to The AP. "I love [Gretchen]."
Gretchen cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for filing divorce, The AP reported, and she is seeking custody of their 6-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter. Danny told Carolla that he received an email on April 10 from his wife's attorney that offered phone numbers for possible lawyers he could contact. Danny added Gretchen had been "talking about breaking up for several months" and hope for reconciliation was slim.
"There's no fight. Nobody's mad at anybody at my house," he told Carolla. "It's been months of 'You know, I think we'd be happier apart. I'm not happy, Danny.' But thing is, she has been friendly, and helpful."

Breaking Bonaduce premiered in September 2005 as part of VH1's "Celebreality" reality programming block. Various episodes of Breaking Bonaduce's first season followed the former child actor as he attended couples therapy with Gretchen; experimented with steroids; participated in anger management classes; threatened to assault people at Gretchen's 40th birthday party, where male strippers were in attendance; went to rehab; and considered moving out of his home.
Breaking Bonaduce's second season began with promise as Danny tried to get his life back on track, but he eventually refused to attend therapy and his friends feared he was back on drugs and alcohol. However he feared Gretchen would divorce him if he didn't clean-up his act, so he turned to religion in the second season's finale.
Apparently it didn't change much as Gretchen filed for divorce.
