Rocker Bret Michaels is crediting his fans' support for his win on "The Celebrity Apprentice" in New York this week.
Last week, he was hospitalized again for what was classified as a warning stroke. While undergoing tests, he learned he had a hole in his heart. Doctors said he would continue treatment for his various health issues on an outpatient basis.
The "Apprentice" episodes leading up to Sunday's live finale were taped before Michaels fell ill.
The musician bested his fellow finalist, actress Holly Robinson Peete, and won $250,000 to be donated to his favorite charity, the American Diabetes Association.
"With all of my heart, soul and the remaining organs I have left (lol) I would like to thank each and every one of you for all of your support and awesomeness," Michaels said in a message posted Monday on his Web site."All the good vibes and well wishes gave me the strength to go back to New York and win 'Celebrity Apprentice,'" he added.
"I am not at 100 percent yet but I have every intention of trying to continue the tour starting Friday in Biloxi. I hope to see your rockin rollin, smiling faces on the road, that is the best medicine I can think of right now. You rock my world."
