Matt Grant, a 27-year-old "global financier" from London, was revealed to be The Bachelor's twelfth-season star during last night's live broadcast of the network's Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann reality series.

Grant represents the first international star of The Bachelor in the show's history -- a fact ABC apparently plans on milking for all it's worth, as it aired a James Bond-themed commercial for the series' twelfth-season premiere during last night's Dance War broadcast.

"I'm here to steal your women," Grant grinned during the commercial.

According to ABC, Grant is "totally charming and [a] witty English gentleman [who] works with millionaire businessmen, but he has something on his mind that is more urgent than any business deal - he wants to find the love of his life and to start a family as soon as possible."

"It is ridiculously hard.  It's ridiculously hard," Grant, who ABC is also alternately calling a business development manager, told Dance War host Drew Lachey about the arduous task of whittling down 25 American women. 

"I've been put in this very privileged position, with 25 amazingly beautiful American women.  It's a combination of going with your heart and your head, just trying to get as much information about the individual, their lives, what makes them tick, what makes them laugh."

The Bishop's Stanford native received a B.A. in modern history and politics from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, where the ABC-billed "Renaissance man" and "workout buff" also captained the university's rowing team and played rugby, cricket and tennis while still finding time to ski.  He also enjoys "current events," which ABC calls his "passion."

Grant is the youngest of five married brothers and is very close to them as well as his parents, who according to ABC "are still best friends and have a sexy relationship even after 30 years together."

"I'm ready to start a family," Grant told OK! Weekly.  "Dad had a stroke at the end of 2006 and that really shook me. I want my kids to know my father, because he was a great father to me and I want him to be a grandfather to them. I wouldn't mind [having] three or four kids."

The six-foot, five-inch blue-eyed Brit has had an American girlfriend in the past and is "definitely attracted to American women" and "crazy about American women" because they're "extroverted and gregarious," according to ABC.  Of course, he also "adores their accents."

"I don't think there's a massive chasm between British guys and American guys. We drink more tea and have some crazy sports like cricket. I like to consider myself a British gentleman," Grant told OK!.  "American women are much more sporty than British women. I love their flirty side... I'm a single guy, I'm a red-blooded male.  I have the opportunity to date hot American women. Enough said."

Lachey asked Grant to tell viewers some of the things they can expect to see during The Bachelor's currently filming twelfth season, however the Brit declined because he'd "get in so much trouble."

"All I will say is we've got 25 smoking women," Grant told Lachey.

In addition to someone who's "smoking" hot, Grant is "looking for a woman who is adventurous, playful and fun, who loves to travel and enjoys the outdoors. His future mate will be funny, self-deprecating and outgoing," according to ABC. 

Unlike The Bachelor's Fall 2007 eleventh-season star Brad Womack -- who doesn't seem to know what he wants -- Grant "can't wait to fall in love again, having been bitten twice before," with one of them being "love at first sight." 

While he may be no stranger to love, Grant said he had never seen The Bachelor before because it's only show on satellite in the U.K.

"I was coming into this a little bit fresh and free from any constraints that might hit me from watching it." he told OK!.

The Bachelor's twelfth installment will premiere on Monday, March 17 at 10PM ET/PT on ABC.
