Despite heavy criticism of his single, "PopoZao," Federline said the fact that it received 2 million hits on his Web site in eight days shows it has generated interest.
His debut album will come out in the spring, but don't look for his famous wife among the credits, he said.
"We have collaborated," he said. "But I'm not going to put the songs on this album because it's like, 'Respect me first; then I'll show you what I've done with my wife.'"
