According to Brittany, the entirety of her romance with Tyler only lasted one month and their split was "mutual" and amicable -- and so she was surprised to see her ex-boyfriend so distraught and upset at the Bachelor in Paradise reunion, which aired on November 22.
"I did feel like we ended on mutual terms," Brittany said on the November 30 episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast hosted by Becca Kufrin.
Brittany explained that she was smitten with Tyler in Paradise because she was attracted to him, they had a lot in common, and she finally felt "pursued" by a man. She also thought Tyler was incredibly sweet and sincere.
Brittany said her relationship with Tyler the first couple of days after filming Bachelor in Paradise was "amazing" and it "didn't even feel real." She said she was excited to meet his family and friends and vice versa.
But Brittany admitted transitioning from Paradise to the real world was hard.
"Immediately after [filming], I went to Jersey for the Fourth of July and we spent the entire week together. And then right after, he was like, 'I've never been to a Cubs game,' so I took him to a Cubs game," Brittany shared.
"We did all of that in Chicago before his [The Bachelorette] season really started airing. But yeah, I just felt like everything really did happen so fast."
(Prior to his stint on Paradise, Tyler competed for Rachel Recchia's heart on The Bachelorette's nineteenth season, which also starred Gabby Windey.)

After meeting each other's family and friends, Brittany said she felt the need to pump the brakes a little bit.

"I had some serious conversations with him [about] like, 'Where do you see yourself in five years?' You know, like, 'Are we going to make the jump and move into the same city or are we going to continue doing long distance?'" Brittany recalled.
"And after we had a few conversations, I kind of expressed to him that I needed a break, but that never really happened."
Brittany said the turning point in her relationship -- when it went from great to questionable -- was when she had asked Tyler about his "values, goals and dreams."
"I just really didn't see ours aligning at all, like, I feel like whatever I said to him, he was just kind of reiterating that," Brittany claimed.
"And I really wanted him to have his own goals and dreams, and I wanted him to be his own person, because I'm a very independent person and I need the person I'm with to be the same and we'll just grow together. I don't want to morph into one."
As a result, Brittany said she had asked Tyler for a day "to process everything" and "he didn't respect that."
"That's when it kind of started chipping away at me, and I kind of just knew my answer at that point," she noted.
Brittany said it's okay for a person to double text or be a "Stage 5 Clinger" -- as some fans have called Tyler -- when you're in love; however, he didn't give her the space that she needed.

Brittany alleged that Tyler had Snapchatted her and then sent her Instagram DMs when she wanted some time to herself. She also said Tyler had asked her to speak over the phone and called the very next day.
"I wanted to have the opportunity to miss him, but when I didn't get that, it was hard for me to overcome that," Brittany said.

Brittany said Tyler had told her about an ex-girlfriend asking for space and then dumping him, which allegedly made him feel uneasy about Brittany's request.
"[But] I told him, 'I am not that person.' I just genuinely wanted to process my thoughts and my feelings and think about this relationship," Brittany claimed.
"I wish there was more of a direct communication on both of our ends, like, if I wasn't feeling confident in the relationship, I should've just been more direct with him. But he is such a sweet and nice guy that I feel I got side-tracked whenever I talked to him."
She added, "I just didn't want to waste either of our time or energies into something I didn't feel confident in this early on in the relationship."
On Bachelor in Paradise's reunion special, Tyler claimed that Brittany was traveling the world with friends, such as to London and Italy, when she broke up with him.
But Brittany suggested Tyler had exaggerated her travels and that she broke up with him during her second day in London.
According to Brittany, she just needed a vacation from her Paradise vacation and FaceTimed with Tyler while she was away.
Brittany recalled telling Tyler that she could envision herself moving to London one day because she loved it so much.
"He said, 'You should just move there for a year and live your life.' And I was like, 'Is everything okay?' And then that's what initiated, 'Can we FaceTime?' We probably had an hour conversation. We went in circles for a second but then we ended up breaking up," Brittany claimed.

Brittany said she was also "confused" by Tyler's deflated and sullen attitude on the Bachelor in Paradise reunion given she thought they had agreed to call it quits and part ways.
"The way it kind of went down, he had said, 'We're both attractive people; we'll both be okay. You were single not that long ago.' And so I was like, 'Okay, we're good.' But I guess not!" Brittany said.
Brittany said although people say she didn't show Tyler any respect, she believes it would've been worse to break up with him in-person after having a nice weekend together in Chicago. She also insisted that she never wanted to lead him on.
But when looking back on the whole situation, Brittany admitted that she "did hate" dumping Tyler over FaceTime while she was in London.
"But when you only dated someone for a month-and-a-half and you live long distance and everything, I just don't really know the way you're supposed to go about it," Brittany said.
Brittany told Becca that she texted Tyler after the reunion, essentially checking up on him, but he allegedly didn't respond for a few days.
"Knowing how he felt after [our split], I wish I checked in [before the reunion]," Brittany confessed in hindsight.
"Even though he didn't respond, I wish I kept trying, like, 'Is everything okay? Can we have another conversation?' But I feel like that's my only regret; some people are more sensitive than others and they need that clarity after a relationship is done."
Brittany -- who first competed on Matt James' The Bachelor season -- insisted her feelings for Tyler were real in Paradise and she loved him a lot but now she's single and dipping her toes back into the dating pool.
