Caitlyn Jenner apparently doesn't have an issue at all with the Halloween costume for sale inspired by her Vanity Fair cover through which she officially came out as transgender.

The Today show's Matt Lauer recently conducted an interview with Jenner as the pair played golf at Woodland Hills Country Club outside of Los Angeles. Lauer asked the I Am Cait star how she reacts to jokes made at her expense.

"There is a fine line," Jenner said, referring to how people making fun of her can easily cross over from funny to distasteful.

"Back in the old days when... all the rumors were out and the media was destroying me, it was extraordinarily hurtful -- to me, to my family. The late night guys in particular... made disparaging jokes. That's when the whole rumor mill was out. Since then, they have not done it."

Spirit Halloween created a controversial costume this year featuring a brunette wig, a shiny white-padded bustier and shorts that mimic Jenner's cover photo on Vanity Fair. Included with the package is also a pageant sash that reads, "Call Me Caitlyn," which was the headline of that magazine's particular issue.

The costume has critics furious and lashing out because many people in the transgender community believe it's insulting and promoting stereotypes, Reuters reported. Although a petition collected thousands of names in attempt to stop sales, Jenner admits she's onboard with the idea.

"I'm in on the joke," Jenner confirmed. "Yeah, no, I don't think it's offensive at all."

"I know the community does, and they've gotten a lot of criticism for doing it. [But] I think it's great!" she laughed. "To be honest, I think it's great -- although they could've had a better looking costume for [her]."

Jenner poked fun at the costume's design and construction, telling Lauer she probably could've done a better job herself.

"I could have done my own costume! I mean, that was a serious bustier on the cover of Vanity Fair, you know? I mean at least get some good clothes," Jenner said with a big smile. "You've got to enjoy life. Life's too short. I can't get too upset about that type of stuff."

The second part of Lauer's Today show interview with Jenner airs Thursday on NBC.
