Caitlyn Jenner admits she has been raked over the coals for her Republican political views.

When a student at the University of Pennsylvania asked Jenner in front of an audience why she's not a Democrat, the I Am Cait star confessed, "I have gotten more flak for being a conservative Republican than I have for being trans," Fox News reported.
Reporter Buzz Bissinger -- who wrote the Vanity Fair article that announced Jenner is transgender and a female at heart -- was in attendance and interjected, "Just because you change gender doesn't mean you change your core beliefs."
Jenner openly declared herself a Republican last year, saying -- initially -- she didn't condone same-sex marriage. Jenner was slammed for not being "trans enough" and also called "a traitor to the LGBT cause."
During a September appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jenner discussed the issue in a wishy-washy manner.
"I have to admit that I remember 15 years ago, 20 years ago -- whenever it was that the whole gay marriage issue came up -- at first, I was not for it. I thought I am a traditionalist... It's always been between a man and a woman and I'm thinking I don't quite get it," Jenner told DeGeneres, a lesbian who has been married to Portia de Rossi for seven years.
"But as time has gone on, I think like a lot of people on this issue, I've really changed thinking here to, 'I don't ever want to stand in front of anybody's happiness.' That's not my job. If that word 'marriage' is really that important to you, I can go with it... [So] I'm onboard. It's pretty much going to be the law of the land, so I still feel like, yeah, I'm okay with it."
And then in November, Jenner admitted she'll be voting Republican in 2016's presidential election.
I Am Cait will return to E! when its second season premieres Sunday, March 6.
